9 p.m tip at the Rose Garden.

Blazers decimated by injuries. Juwan Howard is starting.

Hollinger said on Twitter the Cavs have a surprisingly bad record again undermanned teams this year, but didn't give any numbers or criteria.

Would love to see that stat.

Also the horrible chick is calling this game. Christ, we get national coverage, I don't have to listen to freaking Austin and I get this horrible woman. Damnit.

Bron and Mo attacking early, but Cavs still not holding onto the ball. Four TOs so far. One was on AP losing his footing.

Isn't it nice to have a team in which the biggest gripe on any given night is the uniforms they decide to wear.

These uniforms are great. Love the bright blue; pretty sick of both the wine and dark blue unis.

Absolutely love the yellow throwbacks too.

I'm just the opposite, really tired of these ones tonight, live the wine and love the other blue.

Ah, the swatch jerseys.

Brings back memories of Rickey Davis trying to get a triple double off of his own missed shot, Shawn Kemp showing up to camp at 300 lbs, and how players on other teams were the main selling point to come down to the Gund and see a game "Come see AI and the 76ers.."

Those need to be buried.

The game is not completely blown. Just the ball coach needs to use his timeouts in a better fashion. Letting the Blazers go on a roll from easing a deficit from 10+ then to 7 and continually downward is not good coaching/decision making. Roy though is the real deal...

85-78 ... anyways this game is the type that might go down to the buzzer. It seems like a keep away type. Dammit James missed the alley-oop.. Mo has to get better pass. Knocked down both free throws. Seems like Lebron is starting to take over..

87-82 taking crappy shots which is in turn keeping the blazers in the game... Can't make the shots from the 2 point range and 3 point range. Brandon Roy's most points ever against Cleveland.

89-87 Brandon Roy is ridiculous right now. Reminds me of Kobe going off in some of his high scoring games.

89-89 tied at midway point of 4th quarter. Due to Andre Miller's free throws.. Andy gets a sloppy lay up in. 91-89

106-94 win. Blazers made their run, but the Cavs won the fourth quarter, and that's what matters in a close game.

Nice win.

Also not gonna lie, Doris does a better job than I expected. Best of the females in all the sports thus far, by a lot. Falls in love w/ corny lines a bit much and gets repetitive but solid effort. A solid 30 notches about The Rantings of Carr.

nice win over a quality opponent who just beat the lake show last time out. this road trip has all the same makings of the previous road trip when the cavs lost to dallas without dirk and then proceeded to win the next 3 including the final game in l.a. against the lakers. this time around, the cavs lost to denver, sans 'melo, and then beat the blazers and if they win their next 3, the last one will be in l.a. against the clippers. wasn't there a saying about history repeating itself???

She may be bettter than Carr. In fact I'm sure she is. But I cringed with her talking about Mashburn hoping Wall stays a year because, "The Monster Mash would be climbing on down the record book ladder..."

Be a chick if you're a chick. Don't force it.

Maybe they can make animal ears bleed by teaming her up with AC.

Since they're both analysts, they'd have to pull off the 3-man weave with Fred. I'd probably stop watching Cavs games.

But eye is right; she was better than she normally is last night.

I missed the game due to sex. Happy Cavs got back to winning after a disappointing late mini collapse in Denver.

game at GS starts at 3:30am here. Lucky I'm not in work til 12 tomorrow

Lebron was groped by a teenaged boy and Z knows Glen Campbell

This guy has some good things to say about LeBron on the court and not so good off the court, nothing we haven't heard before but a decent read.

http://www.blazersedge.com/2010/1/11/1244904/media-row-report-blazers-94

Sensing an opportunity, one of the group reached out to James and patted him on the butt, not unlike teammates do countless times during every NBA game. Perhaps with a little more cupping action than usual but, nevertheless, an innocent gesture.

At the back of the pack for LeBron James' post-game comments I had a front row seat for a towel-clad Zydrunas Ilgauskas merrily lip-synching to "Rhinestone Cowboy." That image is burned into my retinas for life.

Hollinger loved the Jawad move.

He did have his moments, but wtf was he in the game for the entire crunch time? 2 plays jumped out at me:

1. LeBron tossed him a pass for a wide open 3. Went right off his hands and out of bounds Gooden-style.

2. Next possession, after a screen and defensive switch, Jawad got completely lost on the court. He had no idea where he was supposed to be until Mo actually shoved him with both hands towards his wide open man on the perimeter.

I understand his length may be necessary with Jamario out, but I felt like MB was playing with fire testing that lineup out in that situation - tight game, roaring road crowd. Hollinger points out that the frontcourt trio of Varejao, LeBron, Jawad had only been used for 5 possessions all year - was this really the time to try it out?

Also, where was Boobie? DNP-CD. Anything to do with this? http://www.cdinsight.com/news.php?readmore=3790

"Tight game, roaring crowd" IN THE REGULAR SEASON is the PERFECT time to put WLJ (TM) to the test, no? Oh, and those moments (two threes in the 4th when scoring was a bit of a chore) were pretty crucial.

Yeah, no issues at all w/ Jawad seeing the court.

Hell at this point I'd consider starting him and benching Hickson.

Yeah, I said it.

And Boobie is a victim of the numbers game. Sucks for him, as he was playing well this year (ironic he got minutes last year while sucking, eh)?

What do we gain by trying it? Barring several significant injuries, Jawad is not seeing the floor in the playoffs.

Anthony Parker couldnt have provided those 3s and D on Roy?

Because if a disaster happens and we don't trade for a stretch four Jawad is going to end up being that guy for us. He has the potential. And his skill-set (plays good D and can hit the 3) makes him a player that may be around for a few years.

Anthony Parker couldnt have provided those 3s and D on Roy?

He didn't do much of either in the 18 minutes he played. Not for lack of effort and he was in his face but he had no results.

He has been around for a few years. Until now he's never shown enough to even crack the rotation - now he's in the crunch time rotation?

Moon is hurt. Boobie is too small. Don't trust Hickson in the 4th quarter. Where else did he have to go?

Development, it happens.

Guy tore up the D-League, earned a shot and worked his way into a role. I honestly don't understand what there is to object to.

Happens all the time.

And his +/- last night was awesome. He played solid and Brown decided his length and D was better than Parkers at said moment.

Again, no trade he is your stretch 4. Get used to seeing him getting minutes. It's better to watch than Hickson.

Coming off the Denver game, where it was the LeBron on five shoot-around, I was hoping for the team to start playing team-ball again on offense. Vs. Portland, it looked to me that the Cavs we're playing "Let's see how many ways we can LeBron the ball within the flow of the offense" game. A game I love to watch.

I hope this strategy sticks game in and game out. Getting the ball to James on the move is lethal- and the only way this team can win it all, IMO. Here's hoping...

And Jawad Williams- is his PT anything more than a trade showcase? Sure, he's earned minutes and fills a role, but c'mon- he's on the tradesheets with other teams wondering "Can this guy play?"

1. LeBron tossed him a pass for a wide open 3. Went right off his hands and out of bounds Gooden-style.

In fairness this happens to every single teammate of Lebron at least a couple times when they start playing with him on a regular basis. Hard to understate how hard and how well disguised his passes can be and the 'be ready for a pass at all times' mantra never rings more true than when Bronbron has the ball.

In fairness to the blue-splash jerseys, by the time of Wrong Rim Ricky and Goodyear Kemp, those unis were long gone. They moved to a toned-down solid-color model from 1999-2003, when the team really fell apart.

In fact, Kemp had his lone good season as a Cav (19 and 9 in '97-98) in the last year the team wore the splash unis.

Doesn't make them any less ugly, but those unis did see the Cavs to the playoffs three times.

Did you get back in to that escort business?

I've been tempted. The money would come in handy, but it's not a nice feeling

To be fair SSS has openly admitted to not watching Cavs basketball before LBJ and he was like six when those Unis were around.

The Kemp led rookie squad had that one enjoyable playoff series against the Pacers. In shape Kemp was a monster in that series, and him not getting hella fat and Z breaking could have made that a decent team to watch, as opposed to the abomination it became.
