NBA LEAGUE PASS Mobile

Unread postby HerschelTalker » Wed Dec 09, 2009 6:43 pm

Just picked up the new League Pass mobile app for the iPhone. My schedule is pretty hectic so I'm pretty pumped I can watch all the Cavs games on my phone now. Anyone else seen this yet? http://www.nba.com/leaguepass/mobile.html?cid=644

IMO, it won't be worth anything (aside from when connected to good wifi w/ your cell) until 4G goes national and replaces 3G. That said, once 4G goes mobile the transient nature of communications will be changed forever.

Current max speeds of 3G (which we all use) is like 2mps, 4G will hit on 20mps. Verizon is testing in Boston soon w/ mobile modems and Sprint is testing in some hick town somewhere down south due to Sprint using in place towers they bought from someone.

The picture quality is surprisingly really good - I've been impressed so far. Really clear for a phone. Best part is it gives me something to do when I'm walking home from work.

Price is reduced to $19.99. I just bought it last night.

I would say picture quality is ok, and that is sitting on my couch 3 feet from a wifi source. I like it, worth the money but I can't imagine watching a full game on this.

When it is showing the full court (or at least the full game action) I know who is who on the Cavs because of size and where they are on the court. Close up shots during stops in play are really clear.

Glad I bought it, hate following gamecasts or unreliable feeds when games are late and close.

Initial tests show no difference between wifi and 3G, which surprises me.
