No reason we shouldn't get this done this weekend. only 2.5 rounds to go for Christ sakes.

Works for me. I've had my picked locked and loaded for what seems like days.

Cool since you're ready the clocks starts with buckeye's post. 3 hours, which sounds like it shouldn't take you long at all.

Be aware folks we all know none of us are in front of our PC's every minute, but we all do know this is going on and can check in at least every so many hours. I personally don't think 3 hours is an over the top suggestion (evidenced by each and every one of our posts counts) especially with only a players or two left for our rosters.

Cool.

Coaches for this might be like kickers in fantasy football, but there's one guy who is an absolute no brainer for this format, when a coach is required. I'll take the guy who molded a bunch of head cases and one calm guy into 2-time NBA champs, and took some of the biggest egos on the planet (and two guys I have on my team already) to Olympic Gold.

Charles Jerome Daly.

I'm feeling really good right now:

PG - Lenny Wilkens
SG - Vince Carter
SF - Larry Bird
PF - Charles Barkley
C - Robert Parish

Coach - Chuck Daly

We might be surprised at how all the rosters are viewed depending on the coaches?

Nice job though, in and out.

buckeye is next and on the clock till10, then tw can go.

So, is it my pick?

Ok, I decided it is my pick.

Off the bench I need a versatile scorer, who can still distribute and play some defense. This guy is probably the closest of all the "Next MJ's" to actually being the "next MJ" (Jury is still out on Kobe and Bron). Athletic, consummate team player and 20, 8 and 6? Yeah, I will take that off my bench. Sure he had some injury problems, and they were in 3 prime years, but otherwise he was spectacular especially when he was younger. Grant Hill is a great pick. He was on my short list for players, although I had to take Daly. Just an awesome pick.

FUDU picks Pat Riley as coach, the perfect coach for my roster.

Make your pick now if you want.

My new suggestion is we just finish this right now, meaning anybody and everybody complete their roster all at once at their leisure.

If you need 2 spots then pick both and tough shit for the rest of us I guess, first come first serve?

I'll wait for a few people to say they agree before I implement it as official.

I completely disagree with making this a an bag free for all at this juncture, just because one guy is falling down on the job. I propose we keep going with the current system. If you want to cut it to 2 hours, fine. But a free for all ruins the integrity of the process.

Fair enough, we'll stick to the 3 hour limit for now, whoever is up.

I agree, a free for all would "take away" from the draft. I like the time limit idea.

My only question is....

who's up?

Been about 5 hours now so I'm just gonna go. For my instant offense off the bench I'm going with the one and only World B. Free. For my other bench position I'm going with Tom Chambers.

Sorry I missed my time.

Instant offense off the bench and a great marksman from behind the arc, I select Dale Ellis as my sniper.

For my backup big, give me Chris Bosh.

If Doc isn't going to pick then I am. I have had this pick in mind for hours on end.

My backup F/C need a good big that can muscle people around and really "knock out" KG, Bosh and Amare. Therefore I am going with Rick Mahorn.

I'm going with Drazen Petrovic, well on his way to being possibly the best 3 point shooter ever and one of the better 2 guards of the 90's before his life was taken.

The pioneer of Eoro's getting their feet we in the association.

Oh, you, #$^#$@!!!!!

He was my next pick, for sure. Now I have to reevaluate everything, because I thought there was no way Petrovic was going before my pick.

I made the mistake of taking a nap way earlier, which means I may be up for the long haul. I;ll give TW some extra time, but I finally have my next pick loaded and ready to go. I might be taking this way too seriously.

All right, that was some extra time, and it's not my fault everyone isn't suffering from insomnia like me. I'll take, at F-C, a guy who shouldn't even be available at this point. 8th all-time in points, 27th all-time in rebounds.

I twas Issel or Petrovic, seeing as I already have an killer front court I went with a deadly sharp shooter, I had thoughts of taking Issel for the last 3 rounds.

8th all-time in points, 27th all-time in rebounds.

Not to nit pick you, but he was 115th all time in points, he was an ABA/NBA guy. Not trying to diminish his rep as an all time great hoops guy but you probably did what I did on basketballref.com, saw him in the column as 8th for combined ABA/NBA scoring.

But now that you have him and I don't Cowens will eat him up.

;-) ;)

You want Darrel Griffith...or Larry Nance, b/c your picture is of Nance IIRC, Griffith played for Utah his entire career?

Hey guys, sorry. We should have set up a PM thing where someone lets me know I'm on the clock. I apologize. It's been slow-going and I kinda forgot.

That being said, I'm still looking for my guy, so whomever's after me is more than welcome to go. I think I know my guy, but I'm still looking. So, feel free to skip me and I'll post something a little later.

Jfilling, not that I care cause you didn't take my guy, but I don't think 1 hour from 4 to 5 AM is reasonable for me to make my pick. Just saying.

I will take one of the greats of the 90's for my off the bench big man. Can play F/C, was 6'11'' 230 pounds, 19 points, 10 boards and 2 blocks a game. His athleticism made him a tough maychip on both ends: Shawn Kemp.

Sorry, no picture, doing this from the BB.

Alright, just to recap where we are at right now....

Buckeye has 2 picks that can be made at anytime

Doc has one that he is aware of and debating as we speak

Herm is up for another couple of hours, followed by jordan then myself.

OK, here it is. I really needed a backup guard for my team, but I didn't see any I liked. So, there will be some sets where LeBron is handling the ball if KJ is on the bench. So, I wanted a guy who could play on the wing. I ahven't really drafted a pure shooter...but that's about to change as I fill out my bench with...

...from the University of Michigan, Glen Rice.

Team Roster

C - Patrick Ewing
PF - Elton Brand
SF - LeBron James
SG - Clyde Drexler
PG - Kevin Johnson

Bench 1 - Ben Wallace
Bench 2 - Glen Rice

Herm was the one person who I figured would get the guy I'm looking at.

I tried so hard as a kid to mimic Silk's free throw style

Keeping with my teams theme of outscoring the other team, it's time to pick my small swingman for team Blanks.

Ironically with this pick, I have players who were traded for one another. Not often was he one of the most popular players but he was often among the best. Once he was quoted as saying, "“I’ve always felt that I could score on anyone, you just can’t score the same way on everyone.” One of the league's most flashy and prolific scorers during the 1980s, he averaged 20 points per game over the course of his 13-year NBA career. He was selected as the first overall pick by the Dallas Mavericks in the 1981 NBA Draft and remained with the Mavericks until 1989. His greatest season came in 1983-84, when he averaged 29.5 points per game, second in the league. He finished the season with 2,330 total points. Both Mavericks single-season scoring records still stand. He was traded to the Pistons, where alongside boyhood friend Isiah Thomas, he won 2 NBA championships.
As my swing guard/ forward Larvell Blanks selects from DePaul where he was the 1980 Player of the Year and 3 time NBA All-Star.

After Bayou took my #1 target I had to dig back into the ranks of the injured centers and pick between 2...

Both at their peak are pretty damn good and present some nice matchups for other big men in this, but in the end, I have to go with the guy that gives me the best matchup combinations while maintaing versatility. He's the lost guy of the late 80's and early 90's because he was on all-around solid teams and just went about his business...plus he only played 8 years.

Guy wore his number in dedication to Richard Petty...

Larvell -- I would have never in a million years guessed your pick. I'll give it to you, you sure do have a theme going.

noles -- I feel your pain, I've had it happen to me twice so far. I had to look through the picks a few times to make sure no one had picked Walton. Daugherty was on my short list as well, nice pick.

It's about time. I mean, dude is only one of the greatest 7 or 8 C's of all time. And the greatest passing C to boot. I mean, all he did during one of his two healthy seasons was lead a team to a championship.

Walton should have gone in the first 3 rounds. Before the likes of Patrick Ewing.
