Columbus Blue Jackets owner John McConnell is dead at the age of 84.

McConnell brought NHL action to Columbus in 2000 and has been an integral part of the building process. He also served our country during World War II.

Goodbye to a good man.
A God Damn dead man would understand that if a minor league bus in any city took a real sharp right turn, a Zack McCalister would likely fall out. - Lead Pipe

R.I.P. John McConnell.

Thank you for bringing big league professional sports to Columbus and the NHL to Ohio.

It's way too bad that he never got to see his team in the playoffs. Hopefully, Howson and the rest of the Jackets FO do what it takes to make that happen in Mac's memory next year. :-( :( :-( :( :-( :(
