Blue Jackets Win on HNIC!!!

Unread postby buckeyehoppy » Sun Dec 02, 2007 1:55 am

This was a great day for Columbus sports in more than one way. Ohio State football did nothing but watch the tube and three good things happened.

But the big story in Cowtown on an actual playing surface was the 4-3 OT win by the Blue Jackets over Calgary on Hockey Night in Canada. Curtis Glencross pumped in two goals, including the game winner. Not a bad night for a boy from Saskatchewan.

Plus, Rick Nash is the interview boy on After Hours tonight with Scott Oake and Kelly Hrudey. Great exposure for the "local" team on the CBC.

They fell apart when Peca went down. He's their best two-way centerman and was anchoring the Nash line.

Their roughest patch was losing to the teams within their division. They'll probably be a #9 or #10 when it's all said and done.

The Nash interview was a great thing, so for those who want to see it and a short interview with Coach Hitch, check this out (the route to the video is a little tricky, so here's a road map, too):

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/

Go into the video archives

Click on Hockey Night In Canada

Scroll down to, then click on "After Hours"

Select the Dec. 1 "After Hours" archive

It's a 31 minute archive, so I'll give you a time line on the interviews

They interviewed Hitch for two or three minutes right from the start

The Nash interview is much longer and starts about 7 1/2 minutes in.

For those who have the NHL Center Ice package, HNIC is carried every Saturday in it's entirety and After Hours is always worth staying up for.

Oake and Hrudey gave the Jackets their usually classy best in both interviews.
