The Avalanche fired head coach Tony Granato and promoted Joe Sacco from Lake Erie to be the head coach for the pro team in Colorado. He also took former Monsters assistant Sylvain Lefebvre with him to the Rockies.
No word on who will be the Monsters coach.

Thats an interesting move. With the overall downturn in the Avalanche organization the last few years, I thought they would have opted on selecting a more high profile name to turn things around.

4-2 Pens after another beautiful pass from Crosby to Kennedy.
3 goals in 5 minutes and the ice looks tilted toward the Pens offensive zone.

The Red Wings sure looked old tonight. I have to hand it to the Pens because I didnt think they could make it a series after those 1st 2 games in Detroit. I still think the Wings clamp down in Detroit but at least its a battle now.
