Since I learned to BBQ a burger well (about 12 years ago) I have payed for someone else to cook me a burger about 5 times. Never from a fastfood place. Its always a big dissapointment compared to how I and my friends can cook them.

Back in the day it was easily In & Outs double double.

In N' Out burger is a place I love hitting up, when I've been to california on Vacation.

Simple menu, but bar-none the best fast food burger out there.

Theres a place in Akron called "Hamburger station", cheap burgers, fairly greasy, but think a better version of what White Castle has. You order by the Box.

At MccyD's I used to be a big mac guy, but the double cheeseburgers are underrated as hell.

Wendy's, I try not to eat this as often, but the baconator is great, but unhealthy.

Burger King, the stackers rule, 'nuff said.

Funny thing there though, no shakes. Burgers, dogs, fries, soda, and all the peanuts in the shell you care to eat. Another trademark is they identify the city where the spuds come from on a daily basis.

Just had a 5 Guys burger. It was one of those greasy on the grill the way a classic burger should be things. I can't say it was the best I ever had. To be the best you have to be grilled. It wasn't Fatburger, Fudruckers or Ruby Tuesday good, but it was a very tasty burger. Alot like Wendy's.

In n out burger

I was out in Long Beach for a week for job training and on my last evening there it hit me that I wanted to try In n Out before I left. Found a location on the internet that was 3 blocks from the hotel, walked out there, yellow crime tape and 5 squad cars out there, apparently there was a stick up gone bad and some dude shot up the place.

I was pretty upset, was really looking forward to that.

Also - my vote is for Back Yard Burger

I know its not fast food, but I got the Red Robin Royal burger tonight. At first i was skeptical because it was a burger with a fried egg on top, 3 strips of hickory bacon, american cheese, lettuce, and mayo. Holy crap, was this thing good! Just give it a try, you will not be let down.

I do not care for Red Robin that much. I was there when the one in Willoughby first opened and it was good. Since then the food and service has not impressed me at all.

We had a Red Robin close here in my town (Encinitas, north of San Diego). I really enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan there so I didn't order a lot of burgers, but I did like them. Not quite fast food but close enough.

But the BEST I've ever had, worth waiting over an hour in line for, no joke...a place called Meers outside Lawton, Oklahoma. Nothing even compares, they are absolutely the best in the world!

5 Guys is when east cost hype meets grease. Didn't feel it. Good, but not remotely sublime. Better burgers on any given beer joint on E 185.

Love the twist of going for the best single place. BEST place for the best cheeseburger ever is the North Beach Grill on Tybee island, GA. No shirt, no shoes and you get excellent service and a full bar.

It's the place that Spike from the last season of "Top Chef" opened a couple of months ago ... not like I'm gonna drive 400 miles out of my way for a burger, but I was just curious if anybody's had a chance to sample it.

I'm on board with all you Swenson's burger lovers.

Certainly the Galley Boy is the burger of choice. But when you order it, get it with pickle. It doesn't come that way. It really tops it off well. Of course, I'm a sucker for olives, so the olive on top is a nice treat.

On the side, I love their onion rings. Others like their mushrooms. I think their fries are way below average. And of course, I'm in for a shake as well.

Years ago I was a runner at Swenson's North. Made huge tips.

I'm kind of fond of the Rockne's Mac the Knife Double-Double Cheeseburger as well. More for volume that shear taste. You need to hibernate to sleep that thing off.

Sorry guys, I would have to completely disagree with you on Swenson's. I ate there in the spring for the first time and thought it was barely a step above White Castle.

There was a bar on Broadway by the border of Maple Hts. simply called 'Wings' that had the best freaking cheesburger I've ever had in my life. That was about ten years ago and I have no idea if it is even still there. I think the guy that owns/owned that place also has a bar in Streetsboro now which is more in my neck of the woods. I'll have to see if he still makes those burgers...

Holy shit.

In and Out.

Had it for the first time this weekend. 3x3 animal style (mustard grilled in to burgers, extra sauce, and grilled onions). It was freaking amazing. Also sampled the animal fries, amazing as well. Just couldnt eat both animal style. It is all it is cracked up to be and more. I cant wait for another month when I get back out to Cali. I am sure glad I dont live near one because it seems like a place that it's luster would not wear off and I'd weigh 300 lbs.

Had my first Five Guys burger and fries about a month ago ... they just put one two blocks from my office.

The ultimate hangover buster lunch. One of those double burgers loaded with toppings, fresh cut fries with some of that cajun spice ... yum. :thumb up:

I know we're talkin' fast (to go) food but I try to treat myself to the steakburger at Dee's Diner on Pearl, just up from Deaconess Hospital. This place has been serving one of Cleveland's best burgers for many years. I think Dee is the third or fourth owner, but the steakburgers are consistently great. You walk up to the kitchen area to order and help yourself to drinks and chili from the self serve areas while you wait for your burger. Check it out, you won't be disappointed.

Also, they just opened a Sonic in Brunswick, on 303, just west of I-71. :thumb up:

Five Guys is solid, especially if you dial in the toppings to your personal tastes...

Not a Swensons guy, never at all understood why my parents were so crazy about it when it opened, they live basically across the street from the one on PV RD. Just never thought there was anything special about them.

Does the Romanburger count as fast food? Still one of my all time favs, easily #1 if that counts as fast food. Guess no one else likes it 2 pages and no mention of it....

Romanburger is my other favorite Hangover Buster sammich.

No idea what the mystery meat is on that thing. Also know of no greasier sammich known to man. But god damn does that thing taste good .... with some of those waffle fries doused in salt/vinegar/ketchup ... and like a 50 oz Coke ... great Hangover Buster.

Agreed on the Roman for hangover buster, although I've stepped up my hangover recovery game of late, the wifey now keeps 6-8 bags saline on hand for a morning drip if necessary.

My contention is if you have the Big Buford at 2 (or 3) AM you won't need the Roman Burger early afternoon the next day.

Don't read that as a claim the BF is better than a RB, fact of the matter is one is eaten almost exclusively when drunk, the other when hungover approaching sobriety. No way to truly compare....

I just had a romanburger Monday night for the first time in like forever. I was back up there in town for a few days. Man was Rt.43 f'ed up by Rockside when I drove there from Solon.

We've got a decent place here in Orlando called Checkers. Cheap burgers, nothing out-of-this-world but better than the bigger chains.
