Weekend Trip to Cbus

Heading down to Cbus with the fellas and hitting up 2 places I never went while attending OSU - Schmidt's Sausage Haus on Friday afternoon then the Ohio Deli on Saturday. Anyone have any good/bad things to say about these places? I will be taking the Dagwood Challenge at the Ohio Deli and am pretty confident I'll blow it away. I ate a large Dibella's Cheesesteak in about 8 minutes last Friday so I'm feeling good.

Schmidt's is old world at it's best, Weiner Schnitz is off the chart, sausage sampler & cabbage rolls very good...

Watched 2 guys finish off the Dagwood's so far, don't think you'll have any issues...

Ya gotta go with the buffet/AYCE at Schmidts. Best stuff you'll ever eat in terms of real German food in Ohio.

Like the old Hofbrau House that used be somewhere near 55th and Superior.

You will be happy with both places. You need to save room for a cream puff at Schmidt's. You can also visit the North Market if you are still hungry, it is a smaller version of Cleveland's West Side market. For an added bonus, you can attend the all Ford swap meet at the fairgrounds if you are into Ford muscle cars.

Hofbrau had maybe the best buffet ever...

Still love hittin up Sterle's, just a stone's throw away down 55th. Slovenian food, but just as good as Hofbrau was...

Another great place to hit up in C-Bus is the bar just south of Schmidt's on High, can't remember the name?.

They have great beer specials and the chef makes some incredible Greek food...

Gyro's are close to Steve's up here

That would be Easy Street Cafe. Went there a ton in my years at OSU. And you're right, they have to be up there with Steve's in terms of quality. Amazing food.

Schmidts is awesome (it can be hard to get a table sometimes), the Garlic Knackwurst is killer. Ohio Deli is pretty good too, Dagwood is easy.

You should definitely take his advice on the the Knockwurst. While we all doubt his knowledge of pizza, race relations, beer and numerous other number of things, I have supreme confidence CDT knows all about Mr. Schmidt's Sausage.

Schmidts Sausage Haus was awesome. We all had the Autobahn and I took down the most. 3 full plats of sausage, stew, fried chicken, and mashed pototaes. Washed it down with 2 tall mugs of Paulaner Hefe and a jumbo vanilla creampuff. Don't know if I could do it all the time, but I definitely want to go back. Didn't have time to hit up the Ohio Deil, but it was a fun trip nontheless. Too bad Chicago took over the town on Friday. It was a sea of red at the arena as well as at R-Bar which is really quite sad.
