Bar Symon in Avon Lake - Review

Unread postby MartyM » Mon Mar 29, 2010 10:49 am

Can Michael Symon ever go wrong? No little ones on Saturday so the better half and I finally hit Bar Syomon for some dinner. the atmosphere was great and reminds me of THe B Spot here in Beachwood. Small, casusl and great service.

We tried the Mussels with white ale, chilies, garlic & parsley. Excellent choice.

better half had the slow cooked pork shank with soft polenta. The pork fell right off of the bone and the polenta was fantastic. She had a Pomagranite martini to go along with it. I had the Zorba sandwich and it was great. I paired it up with St Bernardus Abt 12, Quadrupel, from Belgium with 10.5% alchohol.

For dessert we tried their Banana and Peanut Butter Sorbet.

All in for 2 around $70 with tip.

The better half wants to go back again next time we can unload the kiddos.

Nice review Marty...

I always get the polenta at Lolita, it's the best around...

I've heard good things from a few people and everyone says the sausage boards are incredible...

It's still the only Symon joint we haven't been too

I wonder if a time will come that we're less than enthusasitic for Symon's creations. I can't see that day arriving from this point.....the food is just amazing, stacked against competition anywhere, and seems to creatively work to change and improve.
