Anyone else cook with liquor?

Unread postby waborat » Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:42 am

Sure, a lot of people put vino in sauces and beer in chili, but do you use any kind of spirits in your meals? Always looking for new ideas...

Here's some of mine:

Jack Daniels: Ribs, Baked Beans, BBQ Sauce

Jim Beam: Corn Bread, Ham Glaze, Burgers

Cabo Wabo: Salsa, Fajitas, Shrimp, Fish

Premium Vodka: Pasta Sauces ('natch), Salmon

Grand Marnier/Cointreau: French Toast, Shrimp, Snow Peas

All of the above....in the cook. :hic: Didn't here used to be some kind of radio thing that they would roll out every christmas of some guy baking something and getting completely swazzled doing so?

Seriously, I have marinaded pork and lamb chops in brandy (the liquor, not the chick), Jim Beam for ribs and beef dishes, awesome.

Yep, Liquor works great. My wife makes Pot Roast that has had a nice long dip in Wild Turkey.

I'm going to have to try the Tequilla idea Wabo. That sounds good although I have never had CaboWabo.

Back when I lived where I was allowed to have a grill at my apartment, I used to cook a pork tenderloin roast with Jack Daniels. It was awesome.

I tend to have a few "pops" while cooking!
Oh wait, you mean, using booze as an ingredient.................................... :thud:
