Easy Recipe That Is Damn Good

Unread postby swerb » Sat Jan 17, 2009 8:24 pm

Whipped this together tonight. Came out really good. Very easy, bout 20 min to throw together.

1. Heat a couple tablespoons of vegetable oil on high for 1 min, add about 10 cloves of fresh chopped garlic and some of those red chiles that you use to season food, but really shouldn't eat.

2. Take a 1 lb pork tenderloin and cut it into thin strips. Add to the oil/garlic/chiles mix after they have cooked together for a couple minutes. Keep the heat at high.

3. When the pork is cooked (5 min or so), add some shredded carrots, broccoli florets, and green onions.

4. Season with some salt and pepper. Cook another 5-6 min or so.

5. Remove from heat. Toss with about 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Serve over white rice.

A girl I know makes that (or real close to it) and it is damn good eatin.

Dude you need your own cooking show, call it Swerb's Herbs or something, setting is a kitchen/living room with a big screen TV and a recliner, base it on the Dinner and a Movie thing except you can have dinner and some misery while watching the Browns.

Great recipe Swerb

We do a lot of stir fry....the nice thing is you can never go wrong with them....doesn't matter what you use: pork, beef, chicken, brocolli, pea pods, carrots, onions, bean sprouts, peppers, etc

Love a lil ginger and sesame seeds in them too...I've got to watch soy sauce now due to blood pressure and I've switched to Hoisin Sauce...Damn, is that good stuff on the meat...kinda like an oriental bbq sauce with about a 1/4 of the sodium

we should come up with a TCF "tailgate cookbook" where everyone throws in their best pre-game recipes for appetizers, snacks, main course, etc. Everyone gets one entry (their best stuff), Swerb sells the book on the site and the profit could go to a charity for juvinile diabetes. Whatcha guys think?

That's a pretty good idea. I've got a couple recipes I could throw in the pot, so to speak.

Anyone know how much that would cost?

To take 50 or so recipes, in word docs, and get a low cost, soft cover cookbook published and printed?

That sounds awesome, Rich, and perfect for my 12" cast iron skillet. I was going to post this yesterday, once I made it, but figured I'd just add this recipe I just discovered and loved to this thread.

Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts, frozen, cut in half.
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup ranch dressing
12 strips of bacon
1 cup shredded cheese

Cook the bacon, cool, and chop. Coat the bottom and sides of a crock pot with the bacon grease, then put the cut chicken breasts in, with the mixture of soy sauce and ranch dressing. Top with chopped bacon and shredded cheese. Put the crock in refrigerator overnight, then cook on low for 4-6 hours. You end up with bacon-ranch flavored chicken that just falls apart when you eat it.
