TCF Brown

QB: Peyton, if he gets hurt I'm done because i didnt do anything until a flier on JT O'Sullivan late

RB: Bush, Maroney, T.Jones, Forte, then Slaton, Torain and Hightower as fliers

WR: T.Owens, Galloway, R.Brown, J.Hardy

TE: Heap

K: Hanson (then whoever after DET's week 4 bye week)

DEF: Seahawks

Panicked in round 7 because I had Vikings and Shockey in queue and they were picked consecutively 3 picks ahead of me. Could have held out on a TE until the end, oh well.

Have some key losses on bye weeks 4 and 10, so I'll have to get creative there.

If Peyton gets hurt I'm done unless Martz turns O'Sullivan into the second coming of Kurt Warner.
I don't think I'm ever more "aware" than I am right after I hit my thumb with a hammer.

All signs point to a 50/50 split of the carries in Carolina. And if you seriously believe Justin Fargas and Maurice Morris are "#1 RB's", I have a bridge to sell you.

Good WR's. Two average QBs that you're gonna have to pick the right spots for. And one RB.

There's always next year.

Had our draft last night...12 team league, PPR & Completion, WR/TE flex option...I had the 12th pick in our draft:

1- Marshawn Lynch
2- Drew Brees
3- TJ Housh
4- Torry Holt
5- Jason Witten
6- Thomas Jones
7- DeAngelo Williams
8- Minnesota Defense
9- Ricky Williams
10- Derrick Mason
11- Jon Kitna
12- Chris Perry
13- Chris Johnson
14- Phil Dawson

Both Brady & Manning went in our first round and I was hoping that my strategy of taking Brees so early would put a "QB Urgency" on our draft and it sure did...Romo, Palmer & Roethlisberger all went in order after that...3 more QB's went a little later and that left a ton of good WR's left when it became my turn again in the 3, 4 & 5 rounds...as long as one of my many RB's after Lynch come through then I'm pretty pleased with my team overall

I didn't like my team originally, but I am semi warming up to them.

TCF Brown, Pick #3

QB - Brees, Russell
RB - Westbrook, Edge, Selvin Young, Chester Taylor, Jason Wright
WR - Steve Smith (Car), Roy Williams, Cotchery, Curtis, Stallworth, Matt Jones
TE - K Boss
K - Folk
DEF - Patriots

I think Westbrook was an easy pick to begin with. I took Brees coming back, even though the scoring doesn't seem to benefit QBs (4pts/TD, 1 pt/25 pass yards). I "drafted" Smith, since I failed to make a selection. Outside of the suspension, though, I kinda like the pick. Williams and Edge were 4/5, and that gives me 2 legit RBs/WRs and a very good QB.

I would like to improve my RB situation and let Edge be my #3. I might have to put Brees on the market and take a hit at the QB position to upgrade the RB situation. We'll see, nothing is imminent.

10, I'd rather it be 12, but standard ESPN only has 10, and some idiots too.

Next year just pay me $500 to stop by your place and kick you in the nuts. The pain will last only 90 seconds instead of 17 weeks.

Draft

Unread postby ramllov » Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:36 pm

Brown Division

5th pick in the draft.

QBs - Phillip Rivers, Derek Anderson

RBs - Steven Jackson, Jamal Lewis, Jonathan Stewart, Rashard Mendenhall

WRs - TJ Houshmandzaden, Calvin Johnson, Robby White, Ted Ginn, Jr., Robert Meachen

TEs - Owens Daniels, Dustin Keller

DSTs - Indianapolis, Carolina

K - Dawson

I liked this draft. I wish DA and JL were not coming off injuries to start for the season, but quality depth at the QB and RB was necessary.

The way the draft unfolded it was necessary to draft a second TE and DST. Daniels and Indianapolis were second tier ranked players in these categories. However, each has a chance in providing good numbers. The two backups, Keller having Brett Favre throwing to him, could be special as the season develops. Carolina, has the LBs, Peppers and others that could surprise. So again as the season develops matchups could be a factor.

Twelve teams had good draft and it appears our division is going to be competitive.
I enjoy this stuff.

So you drafted Larry Johnson in round 12 last year?? How does that happen?

Here is my squad. 12 team league, 1 QB/2RB/3WR/1TE/D/K.

QB- Donovan McNabb
RB- LaDainian Tomlinson
RB- Ronnie Brown
WR- Terrell Owens
WR- TJ Houshmanzadeh
WR- Braylon Edwards
TE- Jason Witten

Weak at RB #2, but hands down the best group of 3 WRs in the league(assuming Braylon eventually gives me ANY production.) LT at RB #1 makes up for Brown at #2. McNabb is a top 5 QB, IMO, and Witten is the #1 TE. I'm pretty confident in Bobby Engram when he returns, so I'll probably ship Braylon for a RB if he has a good game against Cincy this weekend.

I gotcha now, Pup. Keepers can be kept more than one year. I made the mistake of assuming it was only one year per keeper. That's a pretty neat rule.
