For any of you who are big baseball fans, big fantasy sports fans, or maybe even played the old Strat-O-Matic board game ... you've got to check out the online Strato games on www.sportingnews.com.
I found them about a year ago, and they are a blast. Basically, you create a team with a 80 million cap, and lead that team through a 162 game simulated regular season. Three games are played per night, so seasons take a little under 2 months. Each morning, you log on, check your three box scores from the night before and make any necessary tweaks to your starting lineups vs LHP and RHP, rotation, or management strategy.
They have several different games. A "Back to the 80's" game where the players are all the stars of the 80's. They just unveiled a new "All Time Greats III" game, which players from the greatest teams of all time, going back to the early 1900's, all the way to recently. They also have a game themed around strictly the 1969 year (Miracle Mets year).
It's addicting. I've gotten several people hooked over the course of the last year.
