Draft Thoughts

Unread postby pup » Tue Aug 28, 2007 9:31 am

16 team.

6 pts TD 1-9 yds
9 pts TD 10-39
12 pts TD 40+
6 bonus points for "special TD" (RB catches, reciever runs...)

10 pts 100 yds (300 for QB)
5 pts for every 50 after.

QB - Peyton Manning, Damon Huard
RB - Thomas Jones, Warrick Dunn, Chris Brown, Marcel Shipp, Anthony Thomas, Michael Turner
WR - Javon Walker, Randy Moss, Kevin Curtis, Devin Hester (punt and kick returns count for individual player)
TE - Randy McMichael
K - Josh Brown

Overall thoughts?

Which RB has the best chance to step up and be a solid #2 for me?

Manning is money in this league. LOVE Javon Walker this year, I feel he is going to have the tyoe of year that will put him atop the WR rankings next season. 14 scores and 1400 yards.

Your RB are a mess. The Jets offense is looking like its going to be atrocious, and Leon Washington has been the lone bright spot. And Man-genious loves committees. I've got Jones getting 1000 yards and 6 scores. I know you guys love Dunn, but the end of the road is near. Hes banged, and even if he stays healthy, I see Norwood getting 60% of the carries. The rest are all junk.

Like your recievers, and you have Manning. McMichael should be very good in STL reunited with Linehan, who coached him to his biggest year in Mia.

You need to get lucky at RB on Jones and Dunn. If not, you'll have to deal Moss for a back after a big week and go with Curtis, who I like more than Reggie Brown this year.

Whos your D?

Not worth mentioning!!!!!!!!!!

Dunn wasn't a pick out of love, we got him pretty late (for good reason).

Thomas Jones is not really a big concern to me. He will be good enough and was by far the best option at the pick. The perils of taking a QB #1.

I think the sirprise out of the RB's will be A-Train. Lynch ain't going to like Buffalo when it is 5 degrees outside.

Another option at WR is always available after I dump Moss after he lights someone up for 150 and 2 scores, right before his hammy explodes.

Randy McMichael will be big for us, I agree.

Weather is an overrated factor IMO. First ten weeks should be fine weather.

Pup, I would be incredibly nervous with those RBs. Not sure any of them become an RB2 for you. Peyton and you WRs are going to have to carry your team.

The bonus for special touchdowns is pretty cool. Seems to favor players like Steve Smith, Brian Westbrook and Vince Young

Oh, I am.

16 team league makes it almost impossible to go QB in the 1st and have RB to mention.

Unless you are on Swerb's side of the league when people are taking TJ Houshmandiilli in the 2nd round :P :-P
