Kiper's 4-round mock

Unread postby Lebowski » Thu Apr 20, 2006 12:52 pm

Received Kiper's Draft Guide the other day. Here's who he sees the Browns picking in the first four rounds.

Round One -- Kamerion Wimbley, FSU DE/OLB

Round Two -- Abdul Hodge, Iowa ILB

Round Three -- Charles Spencer, Pitt G

Round Four -- Rodrique Wright Texas DT

I have to say, I would be happy with this draft. It is interesting tho, that Kiper has the Browns passing on Ngata in favor of Wimbley (he has Baltimore picking Ngata at 13, right after us).

Hodge is very possible at 43...but so is Ryans, and it would be interesting to see what Phil does if both are sitting there for us at that pick.

A guard in the third makes sense and Wright in the fourth would be a steal IMO.

Todd McShay's Mock Draft

Unread postby wmurphyhh » Thu Apr 20, 2006 2:26 pm

Todd McShay's (Scouts Inc.) 7 Round mock has the following:
Rd 1 Kamerion Wimbley DE/ OLB - Florida State (with Bunkley going to B-more at 13)
Rd 2 Sinorice Moss WR - Miami (with Hodge still on the board)
Rd 3 Montavious Stanley DT - Louisville (Spencer to the Steelers at 96)
Rd 4 Ryan O'Callaghan OT - Cal
Rd 4 Rob Sims OG - OSU (Atlanta's pick)
Rd 5 Barry Cofield - DT - Northwestern
Rd 5 Reggie McNeal QB - Texas A&M (pick from NE for Davis)
Rd 6 Dion Byrum DC - Ohio
Rd 7 DeArrius Howard - RB Arkansas

Blurb on Reggie McNeal, QB/WR, Texas A&M (Third/Fourth)
McNeal is a developmental prospect who needs to either show vast improvement at quarterback or move to receiver to make it in the NFL. That's why his ego and rumors about him openly voicing his opinion in the locker room are concerning.

Like the 1st pick. Moss would be a great 2nd WR for years to come, but I think we've paid enough attention to Offense through free agency. Day 1 should be all D.

McNeal - I guess we are following the Steelers model of making QBs in WRs. If Savage and Romeo are thinking of a prospect with character concerns at QB, why not draft Little Vick ? Much more potential there.

Also, I think Kiper should demonstrate the Browns helmets with the new (old) gray face masks on draft day. They'll need to get him a helmet bigger than Ted Washington's head to cover that hair.
