I only noticed today that the Browns picked up special team tackling machine Kris Griffin off of waivers from KC. He's a linebacker, and the Browns cut undrafted rookie free agent linebacker Mike Alston to make a spot.
Does this mean anything for the future of Mason Unck?

They are trying to shore up special teams and Griffin is likely competing with Jason Short (another FA pickup) for a spot. Mason Unck is also in the mix, but position is not really relevant. These other guys may be competing with other special teamers.

Nah, I don't think so. I think the Browns are happy with what they're getting out of this guy. He's arguably our best special teams player, so I don't think Unck's future with the Browns is in any danger.
