A bit sad we are so indifferent there is no thread.

Love that trade. Ammo next year and still get a difference maker

Martin or Evans perhaps

Or Johnny football range...
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

Absolutely don't like using this high of a pick on a CB. We may be in the land of suck forever. Can't win games without scoring any points.

And we traded up for Gilbert???? Who are we? The Cavs? Trying to outsmart everyone?

Maybe because his name is Gilbert? He better turn out to be an F'ing All Pro!

I smell a trade up to pick our QB with the next pick. We have to hit big on that one.

Fine pick, and another 1st rounder next year. I take Watkins at 4, but I don't hate the move.

They will trade up again to the low teens for Carr.

I like the pick. Qb wr de or tackle. Just something to pass or stop the pass. Two stud corners aren't a bad thing

I wanted Watkins but we really needed a corner. At least it wasn't a long snapper at 9.

Sitting on the deck of Wright's Place, smoking my celebratory "we didn't take Manziel" cigar.

Scared the shit out of me when they traded up to 8. Thought Manziel. The cheer at the bar was more for Not Manziel than For Gibson.

Wanted Watkins, but still pretty happy with getting the draft's best Corner AND a 1st rd pick.

That's what pisses me off about the pick. It's becoming a tradition to move up to take a player that probably would have been there anyway.

Good point Hiko. Forgot about next year's first but did we have to trade up one spot and give up a pick?

Fine with the pick- wondering why we traded up. Gilbert would've been there at 9, wouldn't he? Someone convinced Ray Farmer otherwise.

Does JFF go to Dallas at 16?

Leaves us with possibly Bridgewater or Carr but I think all three might be gone at 26 except for maybe Carr.

But what the hell do I know?

If JFF gets past the Cards at 20, someone will swoop in to jump us before we pick at 26. Then we get Bridgewater.

I think the trade down with the Bills was a genius move and total fleecing.

I would have preferred taking Dennard as our CB over Gilbert but that is only because I saw Dennard play a lot, thought he was a great CB and I haven't seen Gilbert at all. Hopefully Farmer and his scouts know much more than I do. That said, our prior scouts and FO's got more wrong than rights so they haven't earned the benefit of the doubt yet.

I think JFF is a big risk in terms of 75% likely to be a major bust playing in the very cold very physcial AFC North. That said, the pick was in some ways a "free" one since we got it for Richardson via Indy and only gave up a 3rd to move up. I wouldn't have done it but maybe a value pick in terms of where he was drafted and what it took us to acquire that pick.

My prefernce would have been to do the Bills deal...then draft Dennard with our first pick and Bridgewater with our 26th from Indy. I prefer Dennard and Teddy over Gilbert and JFF plus we would still have the 3rd rounder we used to trade-up.

Well, that was interesting at least. Lee still on the board. Looks like Huston will go with a QB (Carr) and then some defensive help for the skins? Who knows. Lee or Hyde or ILB or G is all I care. We still have a 3rd left for a ILB and the rest for OL IMHO.

Always liked me some Kenny Lofton....Kenny tweets out to JFF telling him "Congratulations you're going to a great sports city". Sports might not have been so great here since Kenny's exit but good to see him saying good things about the place.

I will definitely say this about Farmer's 1st day, he traded down and got huge value for it. He traded-up with limited cost.

This is exactly the opposite we were seeing under the other regimes where our trade-ups cost us a fortune and our trade-downs netted minimum returns. So based on day one of the draft I speculate that he is a much better negotiator than his predessesors.

Really? You think us dropping and getting an extra #1 and taking the best corner was a mistake? I think it's easier to criticize them passing Mack there, but I still ultimately think if was a good move.
