To the Browns,

Those are you two choices to draft at 4.

Don't give me this stuff about Derek Carr or Blake Bortles.

Don't give me this stuff about how we should wait on a QB until the second round in order to draft Sammy Watkins, a guard or Khalil Mack.

If you don't try to make a move on one of those two? You've f-ed up, and you'll find yourself in the same position again next year.

I think it's neither. I think they conclude that none of these QB's has enough value.

Personally, the only QB I take at 4 is Bridgewater, but if I had to rank them from happy-to-pissed if taken at 4, it goes:

Bridgewater
Bortles
Manziel
Carr

Bridgewater, even though I'm not totally sold on him yet.

If he's gone, Watkins.

If they're both gone, I guess you gotta go with Mack -- but that's not filling a need (like the Cavs drafting Waiters when they've got Kyrie, or Bennett when they've got Andy and TT).

Just a hunch, but I think the rest of the Browns' draft choices may actually prove to have more value to the team than the #4. (But I liked Richardson and Weeden, so what do I know???)

I've been flip flopping around since about week 10. I was sure I wanted bridgewater, thought he'd be gone. All in on Johnny Football. Then Had to have Watkins roll with hoyer, now who the hell knows. I kinda think now that adding Robinson here is the best bet. I guess all I'm getting at is who the hell knows and whatever they do I'll roll with. BTW anyone else think this additional time for the draft is ridiculous? The hype and bullshit was bad enough before, adding a few weeks of it makes it even worse.

"I know mock drafts aren't worth the paper they're written on..."

"Hold on , they aren't written on paper..."

"Exactly."

But the most recent SI mock draft have all QBs available to us along with Mack.

The more I hear and read about this QB class the more I wonder if they'll being drafting a QB at #4.

a) There is no clear-cut dominant QB in the draft. No sure thing available.
b) It seems every "pro talent evaluator" has the top 3 QBs rated in a different order. Not comforting.
c) That even though there's no obvious star QB in the draft, that the QB class seems to be deep. Hence the Browns could snag a decent QB later in the draft... "better value."
d) The Browns can't afford to miss at #4, so maybe they go BPA (or close to it)
e) The Browns have not clamored over any QBs or even over the position itself.

However,
f) Every year, particularly in the weeks prior to the draft, QBs tend to get "over-valued." and get drafted higher than they should. QBs climb the charts.

I don't know. I wouldn't mind BPA at #4 (Watkins, Robinson, Mack) and a QB at #26. I am reading some mocks that have both Bridgewater and Carr available at #26. I pee my pants if Bridgewater was available at 26. Shoot, Carr might be available in the 2nd round to us.

I just quickly ran through the first 18 mock drafts I could find on the internet, and in each one, Carr was available at 26, and in 3 of those mocks, Carr and at least one of the other top 3 QBs was available at 26. And that is considering that at least 4 of these mocks have the Browns drafting a QB at 4. If we don't draft a QB at 4, that increases the likelihood that another QB could drop to us at 26. Virtually every mock has us taking a QB in round 1, most however at 26.

I'd sure be happy with Bridgewater at 26.

And I'd feel a sight better about Bortles or even Manziel there too.

Still have no interest in Carr at 26.

But I think you go BPA all the way with this meaty draft, and I see a decent likelihood that Farmer has non-QB's rated much higher BPA's at probably all three of the first picks.

I thnk I'd feel much better with any of these guys at 26. I wanted Bridgewater at 4 if Clowney (seems like a sure thing now) and Watkins are both gone. But he seems to be in a free fall. Word I heard a few days ago was that his workouts were not going well. Add that to his shitty pro day and, well...

I'm not sure if any of that means Jack shit, though. The tape is the tape and if he was a top college QB a few months back then I have no idea how much weight to put on the other stuff.

I feel like Jimothy wants a first round QB. I wonder how much influence that would have on Farmer if that was the case.

For what it's worth MS, his agent said he'd only had 1 private workout at the time of that report, and that it went swimmingly.

Which begs the question, how has Bridgewater only had one workout? What am I missing on that kid?
