That piece ESPN did on Mike Vick and his involvement with dog fighting made me sick. Those videos were extremely disturbing. I'd like to throw Vick in a pit with a hungry mountain lion and see how he fares. And throw Portis in there too.

How hard do you all think the NFL will/should come down on him if what the informant said was true?

dog fighting is pretty disturbing. All i have to say is what kind of people does the nfl have that wouldn't pursue some sort of action against the guys. I know if i had a company i wouldn't employ any one that was even remotely connect to something like that.

Agreed. This is a nation full of dog lovers. I'm one of them and find it unconscionable that anyone could participate in something like this. How can you get any pleasure from training and watching animals maul each other?

Makes me sick and I do care more about this than steroids. With performance enhancers you're doing the damage to yourself and the game. Getting dogs to fight like that is far more disturbing and disgusting to me.

Outside of the cruelty/PETA issues, the gambling is a real problem for the NFL (not to mention that dog fighting is now a FEDERAL crime). I think, if all this comes out in the wash, Vick is either going to be:

a.) doing time in federal prison
b.) squeeling like a rat in a trap.

Millionaires (even with street cred) tend to go with plan b. From what the informant is saying, Vick looks like a major player and this could get him some serious time.

more of the details on the raid are coming out and it is looking more and more like Vick is in deep shit.

There are 5 houses (painted completely black) on the property hidden by a large black fence that enclose the dog fighting complex. Apparently, they found performance enhancing dog-fighting drugs, scales, treadmills, and basically anything else you could need/want for dog fighting in the complex. This is looking like a very serious operation.

What would make this really interesting is if he would have played well the last two years, thus continuing on the path in becoming the league's marquis player. The NFL money machine would make this disappear so fast you wouldn't believe it. Now, with the timing of this whole thing (with the NFL playing up the behavior aspect) this guys past issues, an equally moronic brother and the fact he really isn't that good of a player, well, he might be in trouble.

Vick is a punk. And i'm not saying this because he happens to play for another team. If news came out that one of the Browns was doing this, i would want him out of town. This whole story makes me sick to my stomach. I wonder about the people who actually like this stuff. What is there to like? I don't get it. These people have serious issues, and they all should be locked up.
