I believe this.

When it comes to the Browns I never really know what is what anymore.

If we pass him for Boyd of mariota, the smart picks after teddy, he probably becomes the next Bobby layne.

Plus infinity.

I'd assume the FO types around the league know this too, but then again it only takes one sucker to get a Tebow drafted in the first.

In no way am I saying he'll be a good pro, but I disagree about his arm-strength. I see zip and a quick release. Lot more to the position than that though.

Not crazy anymore.

Butt we'd pull off Shuler - Frerotte redoux . LOL.

True dat.

I'm serious though...most important position in football by far and there are only like 7 guys that can get you to the promised land. Why wouldn't you take a few each year till you got your man? And one every year even when you do?

This is where the spread will take the game JDJ. Now this postion will require actual depth.

I don't want Manziel.

If he turns out great in the pros, so be it. But too much of a risk.

Get me one of the sure things. Get me the Quarterback that has the "Guaranteed" marked on the side of the box. I'm with MattVan on this. This is the year to suck, and suck hard.

We can debate about which QB we're going to take, but I don't want to be settling for next year's Brandon Weeden/Colt McCoy or any other idiot who we'd be stuck if we got 5-11

Let us be the ones who dictate who the other teams are going to fight for in the draft.

Above average prospect as a passer that can run. His first collegian play was something like a 75 yard rushing TD. Not the blow your socks off runner like RGIII but he sure as shit can run.

Crazy intangibles, just look at this week and coming back from down 21-3 against Nebraska by dropping a cool 38 straight.

Accurate, better arm than Johnny Noodle Arm, etc.

Watch UCLA (hell also for that absolutely absurd LB they are running around with).

He's very close to Taj in my book, very close.

Redshirt Soph just like Johnny Noodle Arm though, so who knows if he'll come out. He should.

Put me in the Johnny Aint Got No Arm camp.

Frankly he doesn't need one in college since he can turn every game into a backyard football game.

Love reading/hearing all the honks talk about Manziel as so different who are too young to remember Flutie at BC. same player altho Flutie had a) a cannon and b) no system to prop him up.

Flutie also had to go to classes and occasionally be sober other than game time.

I wondered how that score got turned upside down so quickly.

Didn't get to see any highlights, I was at the Akron-Michigan game, bemoaning the what-could-have-been.

In the last 3 years, nobody has scored more then 28 points on Bama, except Johnny Football, and he did it twice. Kid can play, and he is much improved from last year. His height is obviously an issue on the next level, but that myth has proven wrong for a few (Brees, Wilson, etc). He does not have a cannon, but his arm is not weak by any means, and he is very accurate with his throws. He would be a huge upgrade from what we currently have on the Browns.

I've moved from 'what a joke NFW" about Johnny Highball to if you fully committed to the spread and he wasn't an alcoholic meltdown waiting to occur in a flameout that would make the ATL decision to build around Vick look like a prudent move; maybe.

But he is.

He's so far beyond boyz will be boyz.

What I can't deny any longer is his field vision. It is sick. He's got great touch and ability to spot throw as well. Stuff that ain't normal. Will that translate one dy later in the week? Who the fuck knows, really? isn;t that the $ 64K question? I was certain ben running around like a doofus at 33 1/3rd RPM on Sunday like vs the MAC would be a disaster. Not so. projecting these guys from saturday to Sunday is an inexact science. The more yah know, the dumber you usually look.

I still wouldn't touch him.

he's a spoiled enabled drunk bailed out of any and all consequences. It's not if with that kid, it's when.

hell of a future in LAX tho.

My favorite part is the reporting of the Browns scout being there but not mention of any other scouts at what is being called before the game the "Game of the Year." I bet you at least 20 teams had scouts at that game, half specifically for Manziel, but it's the Browns who have the most interest.

Has anyone actually watched the 'Bama D this year? Because they looked pretty damn pedestrian against VT and simply are not very good....

Christ, I'd be willing to bet 95% of the people running around yelling "Johnny Football!!!" watched that game Saturday and won't see the watered down version of Bama that is 2013 Bama against until maybe New Years or the SEC title game.

PS, Lubber, Aaron Murray is very upset with you for pretending like last year's 28 points in the SEC title game were meaningless because you decided 28 was a meaningful number. Nick Saban is upset with you for pretending like a very good Bama D last year didn't hold Johnny to basically nothing in the second half after they figured out all he did was run around like a little fuck.

Really, really hard to play unders in CFB anymore. You have to hope for offensive incompetence in the red zone or a bunch of midfield punts. You're destined to get at least two blown coverage 50+ TDs in a game.

As for your point, Florida State may have an elite defense, but we'll only get one chance to find out, when they play Clemson. Florida's offense sucks. Speaking of Florida, they might be close, but they're undisciplined and stupid. Athletically, they're elite. Stanford's may be bordering on elite, but there's so much offense in the Pac-12 that they may not show it.

LSU's may be the best in the country. We'll find out in two weeks when they play Georgia.
