Sticking w/WRs: Alshon Jeffery

Enough people asked that we figured we'd watch the films on Jeffery. You'd have to get him after 37 for there to be value.

Kid had a down Senior year with junk QBs. He's a playa. I believe he's a solid pick, even at 37. Good route runner, body position and hands. And he played against arguably the DBs in the country, fronted by unquestionably the best DLs. His 700 yards in the SEC is worth 1K in any other league.

Jeffery will never have blazing speed or elite agility but there is no doubt in my mind if he is paired up with an accurate passer in the NFL he can be a productive WR.

This is probably an accurate statement. I think he can be more than just "productive", but does anyone else see an issue not drafting a player because the guy throwing him the ball can't get it done?

Actually, if the Browns did get him at 37, they'd still see value. He'd face a cover 2 most of the time since the Browns don't have any legitimate threats, and in the WCO his positioning skills would be a huge plus on the 5-7 yard routes above or below the LBs.

The guy we're profiling tomorrow would be a better choice if this is the rationale. Mohamed Sanu is already living in the middle of the field at the short and intermediate range and probably has more upside as well.

You need to give that kid Streeter a looky Looky at 6'5" he's raw , but that 4.4 speed makes it worth while to peel the onion .

Persoanally i think the Browns are fronting on wide out , they haven't given up on Mitchell expectlast years rookie TE to make a jump , and know have the receiever problems were related to the fact their QB couldn't make plays .

Jefrys stock dropped with the instability at QB and reputed weight gains , teams are afraid they'll have to convert him to TE .

Combined with a QB who has an arm to make the downfield throw , his size would play hell on DB's playing the island , but with that five yard junk Colt throws , they'll simply play off and tee him up .
