3 1st round picks, and a 2nd.

there's a special place in hell reserved from dan synder.

prick.

So, the Browns are still pretty far away from being contenders now.

The amount of dysfunction and incompetence by this entire organization is rather amazing. It's literally dumbfounding how many poor decisions this organization has made since returning to the NFL and how there has been virtually zero progress made.

Holmgren is a joke.

Fuck.

I can't believe they paid that much. Holy shit.

I was prepared to trade 4, 22, and next years #1 + to get RG3. And that would have been a comparable deal. A better deal. And so I'm pissed off.

But that's a lot to pay. I'm not sure I can blame them for not doing it.

I don't know.

Fuck.

Unbelievable.

Guess I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.

Whiff.

Bookmark this thread, move it to the library, then wait a couple years to laugh at all the people who praised No Balls Walrus & Heckert for not giving up 4 picks (2 of whom will prolly suck) for a game changing QB.

I actually feel pretty ill right now.

So, the state of the franchise is..

-We're 4-12
-The QB options in the draft are so pathetically scarce right now, it's not even funny. Weeden, Tannehill and Kirk Cousins as pro QB's? You're high as hell if you see any of those guys leading a team to the Super Bowl.
-We've got an incompetent head coach (if he's not fired by the end of this year, then Holmgren himself should get his ass out of berea)
-We've got a team so fucking backward pr wise they make minor league sports franchises seem amazingly well run.

You know, and I'm kind of stuck in the middle here. We knew that this asshole was going to outbid us, and in a way? I can't blame Heckert for not making the move, I mean, it's going to be hard to match that offer save for trading this year's entire draft away. And even then you're playing a game of chicken till april.

Still, it sucks. I was psyched that we were finally going to get a changer, a player that's going to make me get excited for games against the steeleers and rats? "You know, we have a shot with him under center". LeQuit affect.

Who are they going to draft now? You ain't getting people psyched for fucking claiborne, and you're bullshitting me if you are, and frankly. You could at least try to sell me on Blackmon, but then again, picking him without a QB seems almost pointless.

You may as well trade down again. May as well shore up the line on both sides, and swallow another shit sandwich of the season.

Dan Snyder, I hope you're caught for insider trading, you asshole.

The Cleveland Browns had stepped up their efforts to try to acquire the No. 2 pick in recent days, going so far as to offer at least three No. 1 picks to the Rams and possibly even the second-round pick, according to one source familiar with the deal. Cleveland sensed it was going to get the deal done, only to be informed that St. Louis planned to deal the coveted No. 2 pick to the Redskins.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/76682 ... -st-louis-

Now this is puzzling. If this is true and the Browns offered the same amount of #1's, why would the Rams choose the Skins' package?

If this is indeed true, and it's the same damn package. I would not fault Heckert, so long as again, he at least offered something comparable.

That is puzzling, if true. Can't be true. It makes no sense that the Rams would take lesser picks to give RG3 to a conference opponent.

And, yeah, if this is true, how do you fault them for offering a better package and getting ass-raped anyway. My guess is that the Rams told them the package and they said "Three #1's and a #2? You win."

Well, that confirms kind of what I thought in the first place - that the Skins were gonna raise the stakes so high that no way the Browns would win.

Bingo. Trade down and add ammo to make a possible run at Barkley next year.

Someone's going to want to overpay for Blackmon.

If it can land you another 1st next year, and another 2nd rounder, at least it adds some depth to the team.

and agree with tripods. Barkley or Bust next year.

Ah, but if this situation doesn't prove how difficult it is, how GODAWFUL BAD you have to be, in order to be in position to take one of these guys, I don't know what will.

The odds that the Browns will be in play for Barkley are low, no matter how much we know they suck.

Time to hope that Matt Flynn is the real deal.

I don't believe it either. There is no way that they offered the same package of picks and didn't get it. My guess is that they heard what the Skins were prepared to pay and said "No fucking way."

"He who hesitates is lost."

Just because it wouldn't surprise me...

... I can see the Browns pussyfooting into discussions.

Rams' GM was on Rich Eisen's Podcast this week saying he wanted to START the bidding a 3 #1s at a MINIMUM.

Browns seem somewhat interested, trying to outsmart the Rams, present some insulting offer to the Rams because the Browns think they are are so damn smart but the Rams don't even think the Browns are seriously interested.

Crazy Dan Snyder says F the 3 #1s, I'll throw in a #2 in addition just so you make the deal.

Rams don't even think to ask Browns to counter because their first offer was so bad they don't think they are serious.

Deal done, Browns realize they totally underbid and played their hand horribly and here we are.

I can totally see this happening.

Probably. If you're the Rams, and you know the Skins are desperate now that Manning told them to go fuck themselves, and they offer up that crazy boatload of picks, you just say "Yes" before they change their mind.

It's like a table with a bunch of guys that know how to play poker and a guy that just goes all-in every time. Sometimes you get fucked.

Not sure they would've paid that price anyway. I actually hope they DIDN'T offer the picks. Give them a chance to fail on their own convictions rather than just getting out-nutsed.

Regardless of whether or not what Snyder gave was to much (& I had no doubt in my mind that the dickless fucks in Beria would lose in this pissing contest), what really inferiates me is the reports that the Browns where prepared to offer the same fucking deal , but where late to the fucking party..... Pure incompetence.

And don't for a second think we get Flynn, Bob Lemonte will not allow any real Lerner $ to go anywhere but his pockets.

Get ready for the Keven Kolb travisty.

As far as Barkley goes , I'm not sold on him, I just don't trust USC QBs , especially ones who decided to stay on the beach another year...there soft in my opinion.

Rams' GM was on Rich Eisen's Podcast this week saying he wanted to START the bidding a 3 #1s at a MINIMUM.

Browns seem somewhat interested, trying to outsmart the Rams, offer some insulting offers so the Rams because the Browns are so damn smart but the Rams don't even think they are seriously interested.

::doh::

I hear ya, Chris, but this regime is so arrogant and condescending that I can totally see them thinking they are smart and not realizing who else was siting at the poker table.

If the Browns and Skins offered the same deal, why would the Rams take the Skins deal?

There's a detail missing that is bound to come out.

So..

let's see.

Richardson, is he worth anything? Is he a guy you can build a franchise around.

I do not want Claiborne.

I knew it was too much to expect both Kyrie Irving and then RG3 to fall into Cleveland's laps. RG3 required a bit more work and should have known the Browns weren't up to the task.

There's only the slimmest of slim hopes: that the NFL steps in and blocks the trade because they plan on taking one of those picks away as penalty for Greg Williams' Redskins tenure. I seriously doubt they'd go that high though since he was there back in 2007. Probably won't even take a 2nd round pick away from the Saints, let alone the Redskins.

Seriously? Barkley didn't want to come out with Luck and RG3 and that's a deciding factor in how you evaluate him.

Kid has one of the top WR corps in the country, is almost a lock to go #1 next year, and could win a National Championship. Why wouldn't he stay?

That report just reeks of bullshit.

They can't finalize the deal until Tuesday, and the Browns offer is better. Is the anything at all preventing the Rams from saying "sorry Washington" and taking the Browns better deal?

For the record: I don't want anything to do with Barkley. But I know how this scenario will unfold:

Having lost out on RG3, the Browns will trade back in the draft. RG3 will kill it this year while the Browns will still be in the cellar. In one last ditch effort to save their jobs, Walrus pulls an RG3 and trades multiple firsts to go up and take Barkley. Barkley is Leinart 2.0.

That would be my biggest fear if I were a Browns fan. Guess I really don't give a shit anymore.

Not disagreeing with you. They are fucking arrogant. But they also know how to play the game. It's easy to get arrogant when you're playing with someone who has no clue what they're doing. Then that opponent turns around and wins a hand on the river when they're all in before the flop on a 3 and 6 off suit. And you sit there with your dick in your hand wondering what the fuck just happened.

I expected this (the Redskins to go offer way beyond what the Browns were willing), so my anger is muted. Maybe I'm saving it for Sundays in the fall when I'm watching Redskins highlights.

If we stink next year and RG3 has a Cam like season, Holmgren won't be around to make any draft trades.

God I'm angry....but it's almost exclusively at Snyder. He fucked both fan bases today.....because he won't have shit to put around griffin without picks, no one wants to go there.
