The rest are just meh. You may as well go out and sign Kyle Orton if you're planning on drafting Tannehill. It would allow us to pick up another actual decent player with that pick, over wasting it on a guy who's career will be over within 2 years.

But I have read a lot about what people who have watched those guys think. And from what I've read RG3 seems WAY more like a guy I want in Orange and Brown. Not the guy who was a receiver a few years ago.

Again, if they're going to go this stupid route, might as well pay Orton or Jason Campbell out the ass, and draft Blackmon and Mike Adams at 22, and pray that you can find a way to find an elite, franchise QB in the near future. Yes. Keep in mind, I don't see Tannehill at 22, so it's either 4 or trade down. So, with that said, putting aside RGIII, what do we think Tannehill is? An improvement over McCoy or a potential franchise guy?

JC, This is the rarest of all occasions.....the Browns actually being in the catbird seat, as in the RGIII sweepstakes. We aren't used to that position..rather we are more familiar with missing by one ( see Green , Bengals).

The Skins would sell their Momma, but the Rams covet the #4 to try and unfreeze Sam. The rumblings about Peyton & Flynn only further enhance our position.

I would MUCH rather have RG3, but trading down and getting Tannehill doesn't make me want to freak out as much as it seems most of you would.

From the admitted limited amount I've watched the guy, he hasn't impressed me much. There's a lot of other guys I'd rather see them go for. But they might get a nice haul with a trade down, and his ceiling is the Taj Mahal compared to Colt's, so if we aren't gonna get an elite prospect like RG3 then might as well give Tanny a shot. Got nothing better to do.

With better receivers, return to health of Steinbach, a healthy Hillis or decent FA signing in the backfield, and the general development of the yoots (this was a very young team in a lot of spots) plus some better luck (goddamn Pontbriand) this team could easily win 6-7 games with Colteca Mcwallace under center, which makes getting next years Flavor du Jour even harder.

THIS is the year with the ammunition in hand to get the guy you want. If not, you're looking at free agency next year for your potential QB.....and the options there are always feh, meh, and bleh.

Doesn't mean I don't expect them to take trade down to the teens, take Tannehill, and make my head explode.

The reality is, unless we are looking to get someone who is looking for a shot (like Flynn, who I don't like as an option for QB).. Cleveland just isn't going to woo top FAs.. I mean, when was the last time a big FA came to Cleveland that wasn't a reclamation of some kind (in any sport)? So, we MUST build through the draft and smart FA signings/acquisitions. If trading away picks for RGIII is the answer, do it. If Holgrem/Heckert don't think it is, then sit on what we got (McCoy) and build some talent around him and see what happens.

I would without question rather have Tannehill or Kolb than McCoy. McCoy's ceiling is lower than a hobbit hole. The other 2 at least have a chance of being a starting caliber NFL QB (didn't say it was a big chance, but at least not completely impossible).

But I agree that if they don't go RG3 it might be best to get talent at other positions rather than spend picks on Kolb/Tannehill, cuz with Colt at least you KNOW you don't have a QB. Those other 2... you might waste another couple years "finding out".

Still, even Colt could win 6 or 7 games with an improved roster. Then we're fucked if we ever hope to draft a franchise QB... at least until we suck again.

I am torn. I think we have too many holes to sell the farm for RGIII.

However, all these draft picks from all this trading down year after year hasn't make us markedly better either.
