Sherman, Mariucci, Mornihweg, Childress, Andy Reid. Ray Rhodes also a disaster from the defensive side. John Harbaugh the only legit guy in the entire tree.

It's true, looking at what branches out from Mikey's side, there are a ton of guys that I'd want being second banana but only 1 who'd I want leading the way.

The biggest question to me is why Shurmur stayed with the Eagles for so long - 3 years as TE Coach and 7 as QB coach - 10 years overall. Seems like if he was that much of a hot shit coach he would have moved on or up before then. Maybe he just liked it in Philly - they certainly had a lot of success. Maybe it was such a good gig that he turned down other offers. Don't know, just curious.

Good thing we didn't interview anyone else but him and the Rooney Rule candidates. Not quite the "expansive search" Walrus promised us before hiring his puppet three days later.

I agree w/ your ovreall point, but lets be fair to Reid. 4 straight NFC title game shots, a Super Bowl, infinite playoffs births, etc. We'd kill to have an overrated coordinator w/ that track record. No doubt he's losing it but he has a hell of a history.

Clearly Shurmur was there, physically. To what degree he was directly involved in the success and how much is the result of Reid and Marty M is unclear. Physical proximity to success does not guarantee future results.

I was addressing Swerb calling Reid a bad coach, nothing to do w/ Shurmur.

And whereever you posted something about Mumbles to the Jets, he signed on their agreeing to follow up Parcels as their coach and backed out to go the the Pats. Pats had to trade draft picks (and fairly good ones) for him.
