Marecic Blows

Unread postby mistero » Fri Sep 02, 2011 9:21 am

This kid does not belong on an NFL field. In 4 preseason games he has shown no reason to keep him on your roster. He's too weak to block. His hands are bad. He can't run in short yardage. He's too slow.

Heckert blew this pick. No knock on him. You can't win them all. Now we'll see if he's a petty bitch like Savage and keeps his guy despite the evidence. Clutts deserves his roster spot, and that aint saying much.

We need to keep an eye on cut fullbacks. Seems like there is always a glut of vet fullbacks on the street. Because what we got aint too good.

Jordan Cameron and Marecic should of been Casey Matthews and Davon House.

Some lame goal line runs last night by Marecic. Looked like he was standing straight up when he hit the line.

SD:

JAG practice squad fodder that we gave up on Vickers for and passed on Casey MaThews to draft.

His choice represents a triple fuck up.

Yes it is a triple fuck up. Just because this new regime seems to be getting things right 90% of the time doesn't mean they don't have their warts. This guy is one of out our starting 11? I don't care how great his scouting report was, you can't draft a FB in the 4th round and expect him to walk on the field as a day one starter. Stupid.

I am still in shock that we let Vickers go. Unless I am an idiot, guy was an incredible fullback that could play in any scheme.

Agree Heckert got too cute with the Marecic pick. Pray I'm wrong.

Four exhibition games clearly defines a career.

It doesn't define a career, but you need to show something in order to make a team. There's 75 guys who would give anything to make the final 53 and you're just going to hand this nobody a starting spot on the offense?

He needs time to develop...if he ever does. He needs to go to the practice squad. I doubt there would be any threat of anyone signing him.

That's the way of the world. The draft position entitles the guy to an opportunity someone else may have earned.
You know why Tyler Cutts was available for this camp? Because guys like Tyler Cutts are Always available.

Marecic may be Clutts in a year or two. But he's going to get the chance to prove worthy of his draft pick and despite what he looks like today it may be a matter of time.

And yeah, we ALL were sideways over the Vickers/Marecic thing. Didn't seem necessary and Vickers wasn't breaking any bank regardless of whether he was a free agent.

Yes, he needs some work for sure, he looked like a LB trying to score a TD....Oh, that's right he is.

I'll give him his chance.

I recall Alex Mack looking like complete shit his first 8 games, and then it started to come on for him, and now look at him.

He's a rookie who's going to need time to adjust to the pro-game. I'll see how he looks when week 10 rolls around, not week 3.

No comments on Marecic, but I would stay away from comparing the rookie learning curve for playing Center as opposed to FB.
