There has been a rumor going around the Browns will announce he's out for '07 and is having another surgery. Swerb, can you find anything on this? I sure hope it's bunk.

Would be fitting.

After a sensational draft weekend and all of us on cloud nine, it would only be normal for us to get a dose of reality just a few days later.

I hope this is bunk.

I've got a couple calls in. Where's the rumor coming from? I didn't see anything on PFT.

Given what I've learned about microfracture surgery over the last couple months, I wouldn't be surprised. I'm almost expecting this news to come at some point.

That said, Phil was just on record about 10 days ago as saying K2 is ahead of schedule, and would be ready for camp. The fact that the Browns did not take a TE last weekend also leads me to believe that the Browns had no knowledge of any type of pending Winslow announcement.

That rumor went around back in March too. The Browns and Kellen both stated at that time that everything was right on track and he would be back this year and ready to play. Savage repeatedly stated that with the addition of this years draft picks, Winslow, Edwards, Lewis, Steinbach, (etc and so on) that this team really has a chance to be a legitimate contender again in the NFL.

I think (and HOPE) that it is just an attempt to rain on our parade.

Someone called KNR last night and got Roda all worked up. Apparently it was a caller who has some credibility with Roda. Talk that with a grain salt but that is the only other place I have heard it mentioned besides this forum. God I hope its not true.

Let's hope these rumors are false.

Untill then, can't starting rumors like this technically be considered terrorist threats aimed at the Dawg Pound?

Maybe not terrorist crimes -- but possibly Hate Speech, and I think that's illegal now.

Well, this rumor's been out for a couple days now, and has probably hardened and needs to be scooped up and tossed in a trash bag.

Well, it is micro facture surgery. There is always a possibility that he could have some sort of setback. I wouldn’t put it to bed but realize there might be plenty more rumors going around about the possibility of him not playing this year or out some amount of games. I just can’t count him in until I see it with my own eyes...call me a C-town fan I guess. The same can be said for LeCharles …I’ll believe he can play when he is on the field, but until then he isn’t even on my radar.

I will be beside myself the day that our starting line-up is;

B. Edwards J. Thomas Stienbach Fraley LeCharles Schafer Winslow Joey J

FB of your choice

Lewis

I get goose bumps just thinking of it.

I wouldn't count on Baxter. He has the knees of a 75 year old woman.

It is obvious that Savage and Crennel aren't counting on him either. That's why they made the 2nd trade with JJ for Easy E.

Now if Bentley comes back, do you play him at center or RG ?

It blows my mind that Tucker, Sowells, Bulter and McKinney could be our reserve linemen. Normally 3 of those guys would make up 60% of our line. No more apple pie for dinner...
Isn't it time something good happens in this town ?

It prolly depends on how he actually recovers, because a healthy LeCharles is hands down better than Fraley...IMO. I think Bently would play RG cuz he can and Fraley can't.
