New Kickoff Rule

Soooooo... how'd you like it?

Yes, I understand there was a kickoff return for a TD. But mostly it was a kneel-fest.

My guess is that this rule severely reduces the league average starting field position and leads to lower scoring games. I have no problem with lower scoring games, but I wouldn't mind more than one or two KO returns a game.

The ball used is supplied by the league , I mean its not like each team uses its own ball that they are comfortable with, no?

If thats the case, wouldnt taking an extra pound or two of H2O fill out of the ball make it a little less hard and not travel as far?

That would work, kinda "un-juicing" the ball.

I think it was Gruden who predicted that the kickers would adjust and end up trying to get more hang time and have the ball land between the 0-5 yard lines. As a kicking team, I would think you would prefer a touchback with no chance for return however. Do they really all have to be touching the 30 yd line too? Onside kicks might be tougher to recover.
