Strengths:

Has a good frame with long arms...Intense with an outstanding motor...Is smart and instinctive...Stout at the point and plays the run well...Is physical, aggressive and a good tackler...Has decent range down the line...Relatively solid production.

Weaknesses:

Is not overly athletic...Timed speed and quickness are below average...Needs to play with better leverage...Is on the ground too much...Has trouble disengaging from blocks...Needs to get stronger and bulk up...Might not have a lot of upside.

Notes:

His given first name is "Benjamin"...A former top recruit out of Evangel Christian High School...Started his career at Texas but transferred after his brother Cole, who was also a Longhorn football player, was killed in a car accident...A classic overachiever who gets the most out of his ability...Is probably only a pro backup.

POSITIVES: Quick changing direction, moves well laterally and collapses to the sidelines defending the run. Works his hands throughout the action, chases hard to get involved and possesses a short-area burst of speed.

NEGATIVES: Marginally strong at the point and handled by tight ends. Not fast off the edge and shows minimal pass-rushing skills.

ANALYSIS: A prospect who looks better than he plays, Pittman has never met the expectations of NFL scouts. Offers the frame to add bulk and has shown skill in run defense.

PROJECTION: Early Seventh Round
