for those who believe the "draft value chart" the 22nd and 36th add to 1320 "points", which is roughly the number 10 pick overall. So, unless we would be drafting in the top 10 next year, this is a wash. Coupled with Quinn could be the franchise QB for the next 10 years, this one is ballsy but sound.

EDIT Wow - my math is faulty. We give up a 36th and get a 22nd - which is 780-540 or 240 to us. The pick (again, according to the charts worth 240) is the 70th overall - meaning we "should" have given up this years second and third to move up to 22nd. I guess you can throw all this out when talking about a potential franchise QB, but we gave up a lot. Helluva lot.

ESPN reporting that Baltimore was the other team negotiating with Dallas for the pick. Agree with mattvan, this is a ballsy but sound move. If Quinn becomes the franchise QB and face of the franchise for 10+ years, this will go down as one of the best trades in team history. Time will tell.

Quinn is head and shoulders more talented than either Frye or Anderson. I hope Quinn is given the opportunity in training camp to win a starting spot. I have no problem with a rookie QB starting providing he shows in camp and exhibition games that he deserves to be starting.

Count me in as one who is enthused.

I loved the Thomas pick and didn't want Quinn at #3. Thomas completes the OL and actually makes it look pretty good. A solid running game may be around the corner with a healthy Lewis. This opens the door for the passing game.

Enter Brady Quinn.

Excellent move up. Love him at #22 and believe that the Browns have blown everyone else away in the draft this year.

I don't know if he'll start out of the gates, but he's much closer to being ready than most rookies. The offense shouldn't be hard for him to grasp and he could earn the spot if they let him.

A solid OL and decent-to-good performance at QB should make the D's job easier and give them more of a cushion in some game.

Looking forward to the 3rd round pick and seeing what we pick up tomorrow. This is the first time I can remember being absolutely knocked out by the Browns' draft, not needing to convince myself that it was okay. Last year was good and I really liked Wimbley, but this year is stellar thus far.

It sounds like a lot, but it's the price that had to be paid.

In order to move back into the 1st round, we had to give up our 2nd and next year’s 1st rounder. Assume that trading next year’s 1st rounder for Number 22 in this year’s draft as a wash. So we essentially gave up our second round pick for Brady Quinn. But, we moved up to get Eric Wright, who many people think we would’ve taken at 36 anyway, so we got that 2nd round pick back. The trade back up to the 2nd round cost the Browns a 3rd and a 4th (they swapped 6th round picks).

So, in the end, it cost the Browns a 3rd and a 4th round pick to draft Brady Quinn.

Everyone touted Quinn's greatest attribute as being "NFL Ready". If that's the case, give him every chance to win the starting job in Training Camp.
