sucks. One OT does not make the O-line better. We've been rebuilding since 1999 and never seem to get better. Our current QBs are not NFL quality. Brady Quinn or Adrian Peterson should have been the pick here.

Very disappointed but have to live with it! :cry :cry:

One OT completes the line:

LT - Thomas
LG - Steinbach
C - Fraley
RG - Andruzzi/McKinney
RT - Shaffer/Tucker

That's the type of line that makes a quarterback better. It's also the type of line that makes the running game better, which in turn helps the passing game. I was scared to death that they would take Quinn, but the Browns made the right choice.

I disagree. Quinn was not good against good teams as a college QB. he's no better than Frye. AP is an injury prone RB in my opinion. The hip pick is to go for skill guys. We need to get some help up front. OL talent is hard to find and we got the best of the bunch in round 1.

IMO Frye is Tim Couch, Jr. University of Akron does not groom it's players to be NFL material.

Oh well . . . yet another losing season coming up.

I have to disagree with you.

I don't care who your quarterback is, if he spends all his time running for his life or on his back, he is worthless.

With the line we have, Quinn would end up just like Couch.

With a good line we can evaluate Frye. If he isn't the guy, we can trade for one, draft one next year, or maybe draft one in a late round this year and let him watch for a year.

I for one love Thomas and would like to see more linemen selected.

Carb, if you want to pimp JT, be my guest, but please do not try and convince any of us with that have any of the 5 senses (yes, that include smell) that Frye is anywhere in Quinn's league.

We could smell that Frye stinks.

And you think Quinn would be the difference in us winning and losing this year? Please. Quinn rolled up huge stats against bad teams. He could light up Navy, not very good against USC. The only QB to take was Russell - when he was off the board - the Browns did the right thing and drafted to a need. I don't think Quinn is better than Frye and Frye is still VERY young. If Quinn is better than Charlie - it's marginal. Let's see how far down Quinn goes.

He already started out on the wrong foot with me. The dude couldn't even be present for the biggest professional sports event in the world . . . chose to go fishing!

I'm not saying he's not good because he is obviously the best OL out there but today showed me that he was a punk.

Let's not forget that there's still the rumored trade of Braylon and our third to the Vikings for their 1st rounder (7th overall). I don't think it's going to happen, but Quinn at 7 would be perfect.

Note: I REALLY don't think this is going to happen. But let's just dream...

Another way to look at it is that Joe Thomas doesn't feel the need to be big-time like so many of these guys with their huge diamond earrings and entourages, but is exactly the type of blue-collar player the Browns used to be made of.

My first choice was to trade down and get extra first day picks, but once CJ was off the board, the trade down possibilities were diminished.

No problems with the Thomas pick. He will make an impact and help the whole offense. I would still love to see Troy Smith in a round 3 or 4.

Frye blows but this was definitely the "big head over the little head" pick. I can live with it until the first sack or yardage loss coming out of the back field, or better yet a CF "head up his as scramble/turnover" combo. :lol:

Exactly. I love blue collar guys and Thomas is exactly that. Thank God, the Browns did the smart thing... not the fashionable or popular thing. Now if you think that this pick means that CF is still the guy, I think you are crazy. I still think the Browns are going to be looking elsewhere for a QB.

I do like the fact that JT is out fishing with his dad instead of attending the New York bash. It speaks for his background and could be indicative of a high quality guy. Please be able to block at the NFL level. I too am tired of the huge entourage/bling-bling types.

And YES I know that Gallery turned out to be a bust....but geez wiz that doesn't mean JT will. I think there was much greater bust chance with Quinn and AP to be busts for us. Especially considering that our Oline was so weak.
