You're right, Peeks.
I'm getting high fives in my office this morning....you know...like I did something....just because people know I'm a longtime STH.
The difference in the demeanor/behavior of the 72,000 at CBS is remarkable, just based on the win at N.O., and now this one. We've been in "Show me" mode for so long now....by conditioning...that it's almost surreal to go to the stadium without the expectation that we'll lose the game.
Down in 129 yesterday, the friends we've made over 12 seasons were looking at each other after each successive big play with our mouths open in amazement....like "Who are these impostors in our Browns uniforms?"
It's going to take some time to adjust to having the expectation of winning.
And of course the league will adjust, and make it harder for us to do what we want to do. But in the second half yesterday, the Pats knew what we were going to do...and they still had no answer for Hillis.
We were reminiscing during the game about the days post-1999 when a 1st-and goal from the opponents' 1-yard line gave us about a 10% chance of scoring a TD. The idea that we can now go for it with confidence on a 4th-and 1 from our own 36 is like living in a parallel universe.
