On the pre-game show, they said the New England Patriots were the "best team in the NFL" with a 6-1 record. . .really?? Can't wait to watch Bruce Drennen's show later on, his head is going to spin off his shoulders. . .Go Brownies!

Fuckin Welker. Guy's the Jamey Carroll of the NFL.

I believe there is enough time on the clock for one more Xmas Ale.

Yes. Upon further review, this is the case.

OK- Forget the vision, agility, etc. McCoy takes the clock down inside 3 seconds before each snap. He's already years ahead of Frye and DA.

And FUCK YOU New England with Wolfley's nail in the coffin!!!!

OK, we need to send tape of that play to every NFL GM and see if we can trade Wright by end of the night.

Watching Delhomme with Colt on the sidelines makes me think we didnt waste moeny getting him.

It appears he's been a great mentor to date for Colt the way that Danielson was for a young Mr. Kosar.

Whats a game today!

I applaud each and every one of the Browns, including Wright & Elam, both of whom each had a strip and fumble recovery!

Not a win, a good 'ol fashioned, behind the woodshed ass-whoopin'. Never has there been such a display of enthusiasm and positive profanity during a yard raking. Three bags of pine-needles and an empty seasonal brew mixer later we have professions of love and grandeur for all things North Coast. Browns tie tomorrow, and apparently a hang over, as the cool weather and high ABV have started the launch sequence.

I missed the second half :(

What a great performance though.

Can we finally quit the search for a QB??

McCoy has had possibly the most difficult first 3 starts any rookie QB can ever have and has come through it with two massive scalps and a brilliant display today.

I love Browns football

What a game. What a crowd. No one in the place sat down for almost the entire 4th quarter. Everyone was standing and screaming in every 3rd down...that was probably the most fun I have ever had at a Browns game.

From the military guys on the field before the game (throw in the flyby for good measure) to the final whistle, there was a positive energy in that place like I have never seen. We EXPECTED to go out there and punch the Pats in the mouth.

The wonderful thing about this unexpected uprise the past month is that they're not only winning games -- but they're doing in a way that pleases us in Northeast Ohio the most. Having a blitzing, slightly crazy defensive scheme, a nasty offensive line (even the RIGHT SIDE of the line looked great with Porkchop over there!) and a running back who will single-handidly milk a clock with a lead in the fourth quarter.

They're winning and they're doing it in a style that I'd pick.

And for all of the Holmgren-as-coach discussions that took place this week, I'm not sure I'd want him to coach this team as currently constructed. This team doesn't fit the West Coast style. It would take another two years to convert it over to that system.

The NY Times story on Mangini this weekend really confirmed something I'd suspected but couldn't prove -- that Mangini is smart enough to build a winning team. It's just a matter of making his team believe in him.

Dustin Keller's quote struck me:
"But if you ask, everyone would agree he’s by far the smartest coach any of us have been around. It was almost psychotic how much he knew.”

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/11/07/sport ... ngini.html

I believe there is something here. I really hope they don't implode it by trying to shoehorn Holmgren into it.

This team as constructed needs a cornerback, backfield depth and a frontline wide reciever. But it has YOUNG and complementary pieces in place right now.

They are built to be a Cleveland team, not just a good one. That's important from marketing and franchise-identity perspectives.

That was as much fun as I've had down at the new CBS since the team came back.

What I want to know is when the pro-Mangini rhetoric will equal the anti-Mangini rhetoric both here and in the mainstream media.

I read today's recap and I will read tomorrow's PD articles as well. Still seems like people have a personal vendetta against the head coach here. He gets nowhere near the praise when they win these games as he gets the blame when they lose.

That's how it seems here and in the PD to me.

Last year's freezing Thursday nighter over Pittsburgh was probably better, but I agree about the fun day down at the lakefront. And the buzz was there right from the start of the game. It helped to start fast and be up 10-zip before Brady took a snap, of course.

This bizarre outsmarting of the opponent is going to take some getting used to, but I'll work on it. The coolest thing is to have the CBS announcers on the late games talking about Peyton Hillis and the Cleveland Browns. The talk of the league. How about that?

You know looking back at the schedule, all those losses were to Probable or certain Playoff teams.

I am really trying to keep an even keel, but its extremely hard not to see optimism with the schedule ahead. There are no teams with a winning record coming up after the Jets until week 16. That includes maybe the three worst teams in the NFL, Cinci, Carolina, and Buffalo.

If we roll the Jets, it's ON. For real here.

Deja vu 2002?

Good teams win these games. At home. After a bye. We are a good team. Despite the talent. Props to Mangini and staff.

Walrus fucks with this he should be Big Pussy'ed somewhere near Put In Bay.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

I guess it's been awhile since I've posted. Just noticed I hadn't edited my profile re: favorite player.

Enough with the Gatorade showers for coaches though, OK?

Act like you've been there, and all that.

Even if you haven't?

For now, I say screw that. Celebrate every win like nobody else thought you could do it. And spend the next 6 days like nobody gives you that shot again on Sunday.

Lather.

Rinse.

Repeat.
