Trade the #3 to Tampa, they take CJ.

We get their second round.

With the #4 pick, we take AD/Quinn/Russell, whatever Phil wants.

With the 36 and 37, we take 2 of Sears/Grubbs/Blaylock.

yeah, but the big "if' is CJ there?

If yes, you have that possible scenario with TB or you could play them against Atlanta and Minny to let them know CJ goes to the highest bidder.

If you trade down to 7 or 8, you could lose out on Quinn, AD and JT but probably one or more will be there, plus you'd have at least 2 second rounders. The best way to fill them holes!

If Phil decides he cannot live without one of the above, the trade with TB assures his man will be ther. But then again, why should TB trade? We may have to call TB bluff and take CJ.

Then deal him. From a position of power and with all potential trade partners on the phone.

It would certainly work, if we could get Tampa Bay to go for it.

Therein lies the rub.

Who would possibly be stupid enough to give up their second round pick, just to move up one spot, to get a player the team trading with them had no intention of taking?

Oh wait. Shit. Nevermind.

1. Swerb hosting a draft party
2. Lions drafting one spot ahead of Browns
3. Browns exec in love with one player / on the hot seat for his talent evaluations

Deja vu all over again as Yogi would say.
