BTW - raise your hand if you expected the Browns to have a much better first half showing with McCoy vs. the Steelers than the Buckeyes vs. Wisconsin?

Nah you don't throw a flag on that. Harrison just put a whoopin on a soft little WR, it's football, people need to quit crying about fines and other nonsense.

hitting is fine.

cheapshotting with helmet-to-helmet hits its quite a pussy way to do things.

It wasn't a cheap shot, it was an NFL HIT on a soft target.

Yeah...I was thinking that myself.

Can someone please put a helmet on Mendenhall's skull? It would only be the equivalent of one pitcher throwing at the other team after one of his own has been plunked.

The D seems to be getting better pressure on POS in the 2nd half.

Wait, there is a flag and the Browns can make Pitt punt again form its own endzone, this time 5 yards futther back.

Manginous decides not to make Pitt punt again, there's a doughnut screaming his name in the lockerroom.

I'm speechless.

That's not what the refs said the penalty was. It was one untimed down after a five yard penalty from the spot of the ball. We would have had one play from our 40 yard line.

Say what you will but I dont think McCoy has looked that bad out there. For his first NFL start vs a good defense, getting blitzed all day and losing 2 receivers, kid is hanging in there. Still a long way to go but so far he hasnt done anything really stupid yet.

Of course we would. But there'd also be a flag.

It doesn't matter if we appreciate the physicality or if we would love it if our guys did that to them. There are rules, and I guarantee that TJ Ward would've been flagged.

The Steelers have been the beneficiary of soft referreeing for years.

Exactly. We would love our guys to be delivering hits but the would expect and accept the flags that came with them.

Both hits were penalties the way I understand NFL rules. The first one was a helmet to helmet blow which is illegal anywhere on the field, I think. The second one was closer, but it was a shot to the head on a defenseless receiver. I disagree with the defenseless receiver rule exactly because it's too subjective, but the rule is the rule.

No clue why they don't make 'em re-kick that. Block it, bad snap, fair catch and free kick on a shorter punt....

No sense. I agree 100%.

McCoy needs to learn to get rid of the effing football. I know he's young but he's way too quick to pull it down and the sack there you just can't have.

If you're bright enough in college to do it you can do it on Sunday as well.
