Going to be tough for RC to get a good start based on that schedule.

Its a weird kind of balanced schedule.

It looks like the 1st half the opponents overall are tougher but we play all of our division rivals at HOME.

The 2nd half foes look to be easier, but we play our divisional foes all on the ROAD.

If we can go 3-3 into the bye, we'll be in good shape.

If we're 1-3, does Romeo see New England?

Actually, the schedule probably helps him get over a slow start. The excuses about how good those teams are will buy him time.

If we are 3-1, does Romeo see Canton?

I think Romeo makes it to the bye week regardless. But anything less than a .500 mark over the first 6 games will (and should) get him a pink slip. Fans (including me) will be screaming at anything less.

Rather brutal start to the season. I'd like to be optimistic, but the realist in me says a 2-4 record (at best) looks most likely by the bye week.

Good Lord, if Romeo can't win at least 7 games with that schedule, he should fire himself. Sadly, the Browns may in fact play up to the schedule and do just that, win 7-8 games, which saves Romeo's job. And, then when we keep him another year and the schedule is tougher in 2008, we fall back to 4-5 wins and finally dump him. Which means, it may not be our year until 2009.

I agree though, a 1-3 start and the Browns are in trouble. That would mean they lost at least two home games against divisional foes AT HOME.

This lame schedule is going to save Romeo's job.

I wonder, I just wonder ... if The Schedule will have any impact whatsoever on The Pick.

If asked, clearly the Browns will say that this a pick for the future of this team, and the idea that the schedule for the first four games would have an impact is poppycock.

But, if Savage is still truly undecided on Brady/JMarcus vs AP ... and just happens to have a schedule near ...

the two headed of 8 Ball and AP would look real nice in those division games

While you make a good point....

Draft picks should be made on long-term needs, not based on immediate short-term needs (like the 2007 season). While I would be more than fine with AP, if Quinn and/or JMark are there, we gotta take the QB.

Based on the schedule, we'll be right back at the top of the draft next year.

How wrong would it be to write something like "I'm glad we can get the disillusionment of early optimism completely out of the way immdiately this coming year by opening w/ the Appalachians"?

Not that I'd, uh, write that.

I'm just sayin'.
