For one year at $1,000,000 I can't believe the Browns didn't even consider him instead of Mike Adams. Even if he's only making the veteran minimum Adams is going to make $595,000 (although he'll only count $435,000 against the cap, which might play into this), which in NFL terms isn't that much less than Doss, who I think would have fit a little better. I think Pool is going to end up being best at nickelback and fill-in starter at safety or cornerback, but apparently the brass sees him as a starting safety.
