Both guys I'd love to see the Browns move on.

Davis, pre injury, was pretty damn good for Houston considering their line woes. Would be a nice complement to 8 Ball Jamal (I still can't believe Jamal Lewis is a Brown).

I take a shot on Dominick. He could be eased back into action this year, be a good handcuff to Lewis and get 10-15 touches a game. And, if he stays healthy, could get back to 100% going into 2008 and be 8-Balls replacement. An option, for sure.

In his 3 years as a starter, he missed 3 starts before his season ending injury in Week 14 2005.

Go up and down the running back list in the NFL. Aside from Tomlinson and Larry Johnson, what RB's have not missed a handful of starts in the last 3 years? So, is Shaun Alexander injury prone?

On a cheap deal, as a flyer, I'd consider him. Note, I am unaware if he is healthy or not, so that factors in too.

His knee is shot, he wont be an option for any NFL team in 08. He may have played in those games but I recall him playing hurt alot as well. Face it, he's damaged goods and lord knows we dont need anymore of that. Hell we cant even draft nor sign a top-tier guy without injury, Im just not interested in another one. Im not all that crazy about Lewis but Im waiting to see our draft before making any kind of judgement of this years offseason. Right now, Im not totally impressed.

What if Carr gets picked up by the Raiders? That will radically upset any draft predictions to this point. Oakland then can trade Moss and draft CJ, and either Russell or Quinn (maybe both) will be there at number 3 for the Browns.

Would you really want a RB that hasn't played for over a year and a half?
For the league minimum only if he is able to play.

If we can afford to wait on Carr that's what I'd do.

Let draft day happen first,

a) if the Raiders pick a QB, they won't need Carr and that gives us an option should we miss out on Quinn also.

b)if the Raiders pick up Carr now then there's a near 100% certainty that Russel/Quinn or both will be at #3. It's also probable that CJ is gone and with that our best chance of a trade down.

So, if I'm Phil, I get Carr and his agent on the phone and let him know we're interested and we offer him his best shot at being a starting QB.

BUT, I don't pull the trigger until the Russell/Quinn draft day scenario plays out.

Who know, maybe Detroit will want Carr and then put Kitna on waivers. Hard to say what happens so keep your options open.

The Browns have about $15 million in cap money. Clayton commented it was about $16 or $17. Last year the rookie pool was $5.2, for Houston who had the third pick. The league normally has the picks go up about 10% to 15%. So, say the rookie pool is $6 million for the Browns. They should have between $9-$10 million for free agents.

If they signed Carr, he would get a three year deal. Figure minimum cash up front and an incentive contract. He would have to have production to make good money. I would structure the contract say six million over three years. He could have an option similar to Peek, if he hit desired goals, he could opt out in year three. If he did real good, the Browns could resign him for a longer contract. Savage should sign him today. He could start this year no matter who the Browns draft in 2007. He is far better than anything on the Browns roster titled QB.

Davis/Williams. It looks like his career could be over. However, if they gave him a physical and he looked like he could produce, same idea. It might be a different contract, but again, he can catch and run. He would be a great number two runner to Lewis.

If these two players could play in 2007 and the Browns signed them before the draft, circle the Browns as potential playoff contention. A good draft would help this team.

Savage would be open to almost any option when the 2007 draft started.

Word all over the media is Carr goes home to NoCal and Moss to Green Bay becasue they don't want to get good again until 2050 .

Would Carr be enough to move one of the two elite QB prospects to us if the Rayduhs go w/ Calvin?
