If APete slips to 12, Marv Levy's goin' down like Mickey before the Cluuber Lang fight in Rocky III.

P.S. Im thoroughly convinced the Browns end up with one of the 2 QBs.

I agree, Rich, to a point. If Joe Thomas is taken before #3, the Browns will take the QB that is left. Most likely that's Brady, but who knows for sure how the Lions will draft?

I am calling my shot right now: The Browns will draft either Russell, Thomas, or Quinn; the choice will probably be made by which one is left after Oakland and Detroit make their picks. The only wildcard is if Oakland or Detroit do something unforeseen, like Oakland taking Calvin Johnson and Detroit following that with Adrian Peterson. In that scenario, I predict the Browns will take every second available before making their pick.

Got this email today from a guy I respect/trust as much as any ...

I work with a guy who somehow has contacts within the Browns' FO. I don't know the extent of it -- maybe he knows the janitor -- but this source has proven very reliable over the years. (Last year, he correctly predicted Wimbley, said that the FO was in love with DeMeco Ryans (which we later discovered to be true), and completely nailed the Leon Williams pick; the year before, he called the Braylon Edwards pick.)

Anyway, this source is reporting that the Browns lo-o-o-o-ve JaMarcus Russell, and are planning to do whatever it takes on draft day (within a certain amount of reason) to get him. One rumor is that they will package the #3 with either Kellen or Braylon to move up to #1 and get Russell.

Package the #3 and K2 or Edwards ? I would demand a refund of my season tickets. That's insane.

If we take Quinn at 3 with (as rumored) teams like Miami willing to deal up to get him, giving us the opportunity to not only pick up the best player in the draft (A-D/P, of course) but to pick him up in a slot where he comes into the league feeling disrespected, adding a couple extra picks in the process...I might cry.

As for this:

One rumor is that they will package the #3 with either Kellen or Braylon to move up to #1 and get Russell.

Makes some sense, I guess. If the Raiduhs deal Randy, they'll be looking for a receiver (of course, that's what I'd think they'd be after with pick #3), and in a draft this deep at WR, Phil can get a good enough replacement in round two and renew a wonderful BTNG tradition.

That rumble you heard wasn't another earthquake ceneterd in Portage Co.

That was my fuckin' jaw hitting the ground.

Cap-wise alone given the hit we'd take from Attitude's bonus accelareation, isn't this nuts? I mean, I'd deal an overrated average speed WR with below average hands for a legit streating corner, but the cap hit would have to be outrageous, no? Or do we have that sort of helli cap room to survive one season?

And unless Souljah's knee is fucked, he ought to be untradeble. And if it is fucked, he is untradable. But what scares me is he's in the league enough to where I think his boonus probably makes him tradable. Ugh.

The only good that comes from this is that much like those luckey bastrads who have Wm Green jerseys who can now use a seem ripper to create JaLew gear (Just like my Miller is now a Wimbley) , alot of us have suddenly usable Couch jerseys.....

Joe Thomas (with both QBs off the board), Ryan Kalil, and Kenny Irons.

Eh.

How many guys can you have on 1 team that can play center ?
1. Fraley
2. McKinney
3. Steinbach - if needed
4. LCB - if the rumor is true that he is feeling better,
5. Ryan Kalil

Love the focus on the O-line this offseason, but that may be overkill.

I can't see them picking Kalil to play center or guard with Grubbs and Sears available. Sears can play either guard or tackle.

LBs last draft and linemen this draft. I could live with that...

I'd love this draft as well.

The major issue we have is here is a gaping hole at one CB. Supposedly Ike Charleton, former 2nd round bust STer is visiting Monday. This is OK from a depth/buckshot perspective, but we need a solution there or the D falls apart.

No way we come out of day one w/ out a CB.

Did Nick Harper sign for a year? Why not just sign him ala JaLew for a one year stop-gap measure?
