With Plummer and Simms...looks like the Bucs won't be looking for a QB early in the draft.

Well, this move means that TB won't be looking at Russell/Brady at #4, but we were all thinking CJ, OL help anyways.

However, the bigger news is that Houston HAS to be a player for a QB. With Houston players giving interviews daming Carr, you think he's not staying and the overriding thought was that Plummer would be going there and hooking up w/ Kubiak.

Now, not so. So what's Houstaon and Kubiak doing with QB?

Speaking of Houston, I don't want to see that rumor (in Grossi's thursday article) of Hou offering Carr and #8 for our #3 again. Carr isn't worth anything more than a 5th rounder straight up...especially with that salary.

I could have sworn the Carr rumor is Carr, #8 and a 3rd round pick this year and next year for our #3.

Consig, I don't know if that's the "rumor" but that is the trade package that is on Great Blue Draft site.

I'd certainly do it for Carr and three picks. Getting a solid QB, plus only dropping 5 spots in the draft and picking up two 3rd rounders would be just fine with me.

Considering how much our last 2 3rd rounders have contributed and all of Carrs teamates going public about how bad he is, I pass.

So now ESPN is reporting the Bucs signed Garcia and did complete a trade for Plummer. Maybe they have something going on with Houston?

I would rather shove a hot poker in my eye than see Simms or Ramsey in a Browns uniform.

I select hot poker in my eye or Carr for like a 5th rounder, which might actually be possible given Houston's insane desire to dump him.

I don't know ... Simms has some appeal to me.

The likely pricetag to get him, his history in big games in college, and his missing spleen give me some pause ... but this kid played really well a couple years back after taking over the starting job.

Looks like Jake The Joke is retiring, which means Simms likely goes nowhere.

"Tired of the pressure of being an NFL QB"

www.gbnreport.com

(10:00 AM): Say it ain’t so, Jake… All indications are Denver/Tampa Bay QB Jake Plummer has retired from football. Plummer reportedly filed retirement papers with the NFL office late Friday rather than accept a trade to Tampa Bay which had acquired his rights from Denver. There had been speculation that Plummer was using his retirement to force a trade to Houston where he would be reunited with former Denver co-ordinator Gary Kubiak, now the Texans’ head coach, but sources close to Plummer indicate that he has tired of the constant pressure of being an NFL QB. For now, though, Plummer’s rights belong to Tampa Bay which acquired them from Denver Saturday in exchange for a conditional 2008 draft pick, which presumably would only come into play if Plummer actually suited up again in the NFL, either with the Buccaneers, or somewhere else if Tampa Bay was able to trade his rights. Tampa Bay, of course also signed former Philadelphia QB Jeff Garcia in a flurry of activity yesterday.
