If we miss out on AP....

Unread postby yogi » Thu Mar 01, 2007 8:44 am

If we do manage to pull off a trade down and miss out on AP, I will be rooting hard for us to draft Brian Leonard with one of the extra picks we get.

For a low 2nd or high 3rd round pick, we could get this Rutgers dynamo. The kid can run, block and catch. He will be everything that Byner was to this franchise minus the key fumble.

Cleveland would LOVE this kid and would become very popular based on his old school play in no time.

If you put him in the backfield with Droughns or Vickers it'll be reminiscent of the Mack/Byner days.

Come draft day, if we trade down and Peterson is missed out, I'll be rooting for us to nab this kid.

I've always liked this kid Yog, and agree 100% with all of your above statements.

Kid was great as a feature guy before Rice got there IIRC, then was superb in the all purpose role for Rutgers last year.

Why would we need another FB? Or is he going to turned into a HB?

The kid does it all. Can tote the rock 20-25 times a game, great hands, menacing blocker.

what Swerb said.

See if you can find some clips of this kid. He is more than any other player, responsible for turning a dead Rutgers program to life.

If Leonard was given the ball for a sweep on 3 & 1, you wouldn't be saying WTF?

Ooh boy are you going to sweat that one out after Russell and Thomas for 1-2....and it leaves Peterson and Quinn on the board for the Browns to take.

Come on, this is the Browns. I wouldn't be surprised with anything they do with the first pick.

(That said, I definitely believe one of Russell/Quinn is being strongly considered at #3).

Y'alls playin', right?

Surely, not as any NFL feature back, and you already have Vickers.

"If we miss out on AP" there's a big, slow, heady, hard-working, non-jumping, full back ?

If you "miss out" on that Ferrari, then I suppose you can always get a 5 year old Dodge Dakota.....

If you "miss out" on the $ 200 million winning power ball lotto ticket, there's always the St Columbkille 50/50 drawing at the weekly bingo night splitting the pop stand profits.

The Giants missed out on Eric Dickerson, so good thing they got Rob Carpenter.

PS - Yes, I've seen him play.

I also saw the movie with James Earl Jones as a young man playing a boxer.

As always, just sayin'.

If they select Quinn, its safe to say Crennel has at least 2 more years.

Have you actually seen the kid play?

No?

Have you seen his Indy numbers?

No? (I'm assuming no because you wouldn't have answered the way you did)

Did you know he is white?

Yes (again, guessing because of the way you answered and your Tommy Vardell flashbacks...)

Here are Indy numbers vs. Marshawn (guess his color?)

Leonard:
6'1 226 lbs

40 yd 4.52
20 yd 2.60
Bench 28 reps
vert jump 34.5"
broad jump 10'2"
shuttle 4.22
cone 6.88
wonderlic ??

Lynch:
5'11" 216 lbs

40 yd 4.46
20 yd 2.60
Bench 20
vert jump 35.5"
broad jump 10'5"
shuttle 4.58
cone 7.09
wonderlic ??

Not questioning this kid, but who was the last white RB to gain 1000 yds?

I have to side with JB on this matter.

What the hell would the brass be thinking by taking a FB on the first day??? I think Peterson should be considered b/c he's a game changer...something Leonard never will be. Our other picks on day one should focus on the OL and/or DL.

Seriously, Leonard in the 2nd round...don't be suprised if the fans burn down Tower City that evening.

Isn't Leonard just an updated version of Merrill Hodge?

If they take this kid they are admitting that the Vickers selections was a poor one. This in no knock on him, but I don't think the Browns are in the position to draft him. Also, if they ran a sweep with him on 3rd and one we would be saying wtf. Not a fan of 3rd and short fullback sweeps. Lastly, this would be their best white running back selection since "Touchdown" Tommy Vardell.

Johnny "Blood" McNalley and Hugh McIlhenny are the only two Irish-American RB's who've ever done shit.

Brian Leonard will be a solid NFLE RB for many years.

I already told you I have at least 3 times.

Dude - 4.52 tells you all you need to know. But if you need to know more he has average vision and no moves whatsoever. He makes Droughns look like Metcalf.

Furls & I were talkin' about A Pete's times w/ hand & autoclock. Did they time that 4.52 on a sundial for Mister Leonard?

Pretty sure it was Craig James w/ NE early in his career.
