Wake Up Cleveland with Danny Tanner!

I figured I would give my two cents on the draft. I really don't know what to think of what the Browns did in this draft. I really think the draft would have been totally different if Curry was there at #5 for the Browns. I really wish he would have been. Then when he was off the board I feel the Browns where running around calling teams and just pretty much taking whatever they can for that #5 pick. The Browns whole organization to me got worked in this draft plain and simple. Not only do we help the Jets a AFC team get a franchise Qb but on top of that we only get to me what seems like equal value and it should have been we had the upper hand. You needed to get more then a 2nd rounder and a bunch of guys from the Jets who were proabably going to get cut because they are not Rex Ryan's guys. To give up a pick as high as #5 you should have at least gotten a #1 pick next year in the deal. Once this deal happened the Browns were the whipping boy of the draft and every GM knew they could work the Browns to get what they wanted for next to nothing.

Now this leads me to the next trade with TB, we move down what 2 spots to help another franchise get a franchise QB. Only getting a 6th round pick to move down two spots. To me this just seems like trading just to trade.

What a suprise another deal where we help the Eagles get a game breaking WR in Maclin (who I really like). What do we get a 6th round pick.

Now we finally make the pick and draft Mack to anchor our center position. I am ok with drafting Mack because our C situation was not the best. I also read that the Vikings were going to take him at 22nd. I just don't like what happened on the way to making this pick and all the talent we gave up and really got nothing but 6th round special team players to show for all our trouble.

Also on top of this the Pats trade down two spots after we already made our pick of Mack and they got a 5th round to move down later in the draft. That is why the Pats are the Pats and we are the Browns.

Moving on to the 2nd round. I understand we needed WR depth but the Browns passed up a ton of talent at other positions maybe where we might have had a little depth to fill a need. But when filling a need means reaching for 3rd round players in the 2nd round that is not a good job to me. And I don't care if we didn't have a 3rd round pick. All that means is you better have a plan in place and draft better. Again I don't mind the two WR that we picked just not in the 2nd round. I would have liked to get a RB with one of those two picks. I don't care what the problem with Rey Magualuga. I keep reading and hearing well the Steelers, Ravens, and Pats passed on his a number of times. Well the Browns are not anywhere close to those teams compared to the talent on the teams and how they organization is ran. So I don't want to hear it. Magualuga might have some holes in his game but who doesn't, that guy is a game changer on the D side of the ball and the Browns could have used his heart and toughness.

Also another problem I had with the 2nd round is. The pick right after we took Robiskie the Broncos took Alphonso Smith a CB from Wake which is the player I really wanted the Browns to get. The Broncos gave up a 1st round pick next year the the Seahawks 2nd round pick. Now you can't tell me that the Browns might have not been offered the same deal and they might have passed it up. I really hope I never find out we turned down that deal.

I don't like them taking this kid from Hawaii when Lesean Mccoy was still on the board. Lewis is not getting any younger and he is no longer a featured back. This is where reaching for both WR was a horrible idea. Just look at what this 2nd round could have been for the Browns.

36 - Rey Maualuga
50 - Lesean Mccoy
52 - Paul Kruger or I have no doubt in my mind both WR and that kid from Hawaii would have been here.

NO you look at this and tell me what looks better in the 2nd round for the Browns?

Kaluka Maiava LB 6'0 230 USC

Analysis: Maiava is the unsung linebacker on the USC defense, but is a very good prospect in his own right. He is tough as nails and will compete inside for astarting MLB spot in the Browns' 3-4 defense.

I am ok with this pick this kid seems like a football player and the rest of the picks just to me are ok and they are all really wait and see. Overall I really was on the fence with this new staff and I wanted to wait before I judge them and I guess we will see once the games are played but I really did not like the way this draft so handled at all.

Some of the teams I thougth had really good drafts

The Packers cleaned up on the D side of the ball with Raji and Matthew Jr

The Giants got someone to replace Burress and I think Nicks who I think will be the best WR from this class.

I think the Jets did a good job of getting a Qb and a RB to replace Thomas Jones.

I like what the Bills did working both lines with Maybin and Wood

I think the Rams did a great job with Smith and then Laurinaitis

I think the Redskins havig Orapko falls to them was huge

I actually liked what the Bengals did with Smith, Rey and Mike Johnson. Of course they have some character problems maybe but who doesn't if they show up to play football those are some good value picks.

I did not like the Broncs taking Noshow Moreno after signing like 4 different RB in the off-season.

I did not like the Radiers taking Hayward-Bay

I liked the Lions getting that TE from Oklahoma st for Stafford

I liked the Donald Brown pick for the Colts

I liked the Wells pick for the Cardinals him and Hightower should be a fun pair

I am on the fence with Crabtree and the 49ers.

I can't speak for all the players the Browns got in that trade, but the Browns signed Elam to an offer sheet, and the Jets matched it. Doesn't sound like he was a candidate for getting cut by Ryan.

I agree here, the Raiders and Broncos were straight up stupid those first 2 rounds. All those RB's signed and they holes they still have, I dont see how you can afford to take a RB there. Also, the Raiders reached big time on that safety in the second round.

I like the Crabtee pick for SF because he fell to them. Had they moved up, might have been a reach but they got a solid WR, someone they havent had since Owens left.
