Interesting ... Bobby Petrino to the Falcons

Looks as if Tulsa's coach, an up and comer, is set to replace Petrino.

This one caught me by surprise. Petrino just inked a 10 year deal with Louisville, and only has 3 years of NFL experience with the Jags. Two as QB coach and one as off coord. College coaches continue to put up poor track records after getting NFL gigs, and you would have expected guys like Stoops, Meyer, Ferentz, Tedford to make this jump before Petrino.

Will be interesting to see what he does with Vick. Falcons are in the middle of the 1st rd, and Brian Brohm may be there.

Hard to say that before the combine, especially for a QB. The combine is everything for QBs.

Remember, two years ago, we were talking about Phillip Rivers as a 2nd/3rd round guy at in early Jan.

Phillip Rivers was a 2nd/3rd rd guy in every mock draft out there before the combine.

In the same breath, there are QBs every year that fall (Aaron Rodgers) off of poor combine showings.

Bottom line, outside of Quinn and JaMarcus (both top 5 guys), theres no guarantees on any of the other QBs.

Troy, Brohm, Stanton, Leak, John Beck, Carson Palmers bro at UTEP ... who knows at this point. Each one could go #3 overall, or 4th round. Until the pro scouts get a chance to talk to these kids, test em, and see em make all the throws in Indianapolis ... it's impossible to make any guarantees.

Brohm being there for the Falcons pick is by no means a longshot.

I dont think he can do anything with Vick or draft a QB. He is doomed to be fired in two years after the Falcons languish under vick's stellar QB play. When will people learn that in order for a QB in the NFL to effective he has to be able to throw the ball consistently and accurately, and he has to be able to read defenses. VIck does neither.
