This team has officially lost the fans of this city, and it is going to be a helluva fight to get them back.

Please Jim Tressel, do not walk into this mess. Keep one half of our football livelihood strong and thriving. Do not be tempted by the challenge of turning around the pro football team you grew up following, and the blank check the franchise would gladly give you. Stay put.

(Triv, a pretty reliable source for scoop, has been floating a rumor all week that the Browns will offer Tressel the job at years end)

The Browns worst nightmare has come true. Once again, they have swung and missed on their head coach and quarterback. Both need replaced, and lets just hope the team does not delay the inevitable for the sake of "continuity".

I wonder if Romeo is going to give the team Monday off again this week?

Braylon was wrong to call out Frye in public, but I can understand his frustration. Frye was awful today, and seems to have regressed from the start of the year. I would give Derek Anderson a shot next week, to see what he can do.

I have been posting on this and other forums for the past year that Crennel was not the right man for the head coaching job. There is a reason he was in his late fifties and never the head guy before. He's just not up to it. A very good DC, but in over his head as HC. Bud Carson redux.

Tressel would be out of his mind to come to the Browns. He is a god in Columbus, and in about 20 years, after a bunch more big 10 titles and a couple national titles, they will be putting a statue of him at the horseshoe.

Stay in Columbus, Jim. Ohio needs you right where you are.

We need to bring in a veteran QB next season to compete with Frye. As much as I would love to get Troy Smith, the Browns have to concentrate on the offensive and defensive lines in the draft.

Cleveland Browns, back since 1999, and right back to where we were in 1999. No O-line. No coach. No QB. No RB.

Did anyone catch RAC's post game? I couldn't watch it, but was wondering if it included....

There is no way this franchise can go into 2007 with Crennel as the head coach, and also Frye as the starting QB. Both are awful.

I don't know what to do at QB or coach......but they sure as hell figure it out as well as the 20-some other issues this team has. We are the new Bengals of the NFL. THe Browns franchise is now the lauching stock of the NFL. Disgraceful.

Cleveland, Detroit, Arizona, and Oakland are now the equivalent of the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Kansas City Royals.

Hopefully Lerner and Savage (if he's allowed to stay) come up with another plan quickly. Unlike 2000, there is at least a foundation of very good young players to build on.

Unfortunately, only Winslow and (hopefully) LeCharles play on the offense. On defense, Wimbley, Jackson, Sean Jones, Bodden, and Andra Davis are all well worth keeping. Cribbs and Zastudil are also playing at pro-bowl levels.

I'm still of the opinion that Edwards will work out as a great receiver...he just needs to grow up a lot (why is WR the one position in the NFL that attracts all the idiots?). I was also watching Shaffer quite a bit yesterday, since I had nothing else to do, and he performed pretty damn well...almost all the rush came up the middle or from the right.

IOW, the potential is at least there now for a turnaround, assuming Phil can find some way to bolster the gawdawful D-Line and find two new guards and a RT.
